Beachy Van bus camper: Beach feeling according to Hobby

At the Caravan Salon 2021 there was the Beachy caravan series. Different and so stubborn that Hobby has turned it into a separate brand. Even during the press conference in which the Beachy caravans were presented, there was already a prospect of an expansion of the program. There is now clarity in the form of a Beachy bus camper.

The Beachy caravans are available in three different layouts, all of which immediately attracted an enthusiastic audience. Partly thanks to the exhibition stand consisting of a lot of sand, which managed to create a real beach feeling. The series has, among other things, a simple interior with the right atmosphere and a strikingly large tailgate. Prices start around €12.000. However, Hobby or Beachy is not sitting still and now also presents the Beachy Van bus camper. It has a similarly minimalist yet attractive interior and is also going into production as the public once again responded just as positively to this newcomer among the bus campers.

Positive reactions

“The reactions to the Caravan Salon were almost without exception positive. The interest and questions from both dealers and the public have far exceeded expectations,” said Frank Maukel, Hobby's marketing CEO. Even at a time when there was hardly anything visible of the interior of the Beachy Van. The windows and blinds were still closed for this presentation.

Citroen Jumper base

The basis of the Beachy Van 540 is the 5,4 meter long Citroën Jumper. In the back, immediately after the opening rear doors, is the face-to-face seating area. With the table down you have a double bed. Two other sleeping places can be found in the pop-up roof. So you can sleep four people in it. The number of belted seats can accommodate five people.

No bathroom

Just like the Beachy caravans, the Beachy bus camper does not have a bathroom. There is running water in the kitchen from a 19 liter jerry can. So, for example, there is sufficient sanitary facilities for brushing your teeth. The toilet is filled with the well-known Porta-Potti. Furthermore, the Beachy bus camper has everything that other bus campers also offer. Consider a compressor refrigerator with a capacity of 70 liters or a diesel heater. The chairs in the living area can be infinitely adjusted on the rails. You can also leave it at home when the two of you are going out.

Light and airy

The interior shows a strong similarity to the Beachy caravans. Spacious, fresh and in a light color scheme. Including an unmistakable beach feeling. This is achieved, for example, by the string of lights or the notice boards on the walls. All very nice and nice. But there is also a caveat. If you are interested, your patience will be tested. Because this Hobby Beachy bus camper will only be in the dealers' showrooms in a year or more. According to insiders, the starting price in Germany is around €40.000. Whether there will be longer versions is still an unanswered question. A longer version may have enough space for a real bathroom. Despite the spaciousness that no bathroom provides, not everyone wants to miss out on this comfort.
