Camping on the Veluwe: a good idea for a great holiday. And you have a wide choice from the many campsites and holiday parks. A century ago, people also knew where to find the Veluwe as a camping spot. Only there were hardly any campsites at that time.

100 years ago camping was not common at all. And that is why there were no campsites in the Netherlands. People who went to the Veluwe to camp pitched their tent where they wanted. For example in the forest, or with a farmer in a meadow. Much to the surprise of the local residents, who only discovered after a while that money could be made from it.
