Amigo Campers: see and try in new experience center

Amigo Campers has been around since the introduction a year ago well underway to become one of the major players in the concept of used bus with a new camper interior. As part of mega car company Vaartland.nl there is already a head start, but the system with which an Amigo Camper is set up really makes it a winner.

An Amigo bus camper consists of two parts. The bus and an interior. You put it together yourself. For example, you can choose a car with the first kilometers on the counter and an interior with all the camper comfort. New is the possibility to equip an Amigo with four RDW certified belt places. That makes the daily usability of the camper bus even better. But also cooling, cooking, a toilet, shower and lighting have been thought of and extremely cleverly arranged or thought out. You have to show so much beauty. Amigo Campers recently opened a 1250m2 location for this, where the atmosphere that belongs to a bus camper comes into its own. Tastefully decorated and spacious, there are walls like a city or in the middle of nature, including bird sounds. Adjacent you will also find sloops and tenders, Vaartlander Boats is responsible for that. It means that in addition to a car, you can also trade in a boat for an Amigo Camper.

By bus

An Amigo camper interior not only fits in a Volkswagen Transporter but just as easily in a Transit, Expert or Jumpy. An extensive choice that Vaartland.nl really offers. As soon as the bus that suits you is there, Amigo will make a new camper out of it. The engine, drive and suspension will be given an extensive service and the bodywork will also be stripped of every dent and scratch. Spray painting, perhaps you will go for a "two tone", up to and including detailing the cabin and upholstering the seats make the basis for an Amigo camper a good as new example. All work is carried out in-house, there is only one point of contact.

The interior

The Amigo camper system is a central part in which and on which almost everything that has to do with camping, takes place. On top you can sleep, at the front are the seats at the table. And at the back the module houses an enormous outdoor kitchen. The dimensions of this whole are fixed, with a narrow fitting piece it forms itself to the car. In this way the system fits in different vehicles. Removing is also relatively easy. Of course that is possible with every camper interior, only in this case you are not standing with a loose bunch of planks in your hands. Everything is screwed and can be removed without damage as one whole. That is not difficult or complicated, but it does take a while. Quickly moving your interior to the side for more loading space is therefore not an option. It is especially useful when you are ready for a new bus but not yet for a new interior. Also if you want to switch to an electric model in the near future, that switch is a lot less painful. And it is more sustainable instead of having to make a new interior.

Ambiance

It never gets cold, businesslike or sterile in an Amigo Camper. It is just cozy and atmospheric. You can choose the color with which the table and cabinets are finished, as well as the fabric for the upholstery. The two chairs with a belt are surprisingly comfortable. They can also be removed and placed outside together with the table, which is cleverly stored in the outdoor kitchen. The chairs and table are placed on a wooden frame, there are also special storage compartments for these parts. How everything fits and does not wobble shows how precise the CNC milling work is with which the interior is made. You can also sit comfortably on it, both outside and inside. Due to the lack of a kitchen in the place of the sitting area, it is nice and spacious inside. Especially with the cabin chairs turned around. A second cool box is placed next to the bench. And a toilet, also accessible at night, under the bench on the other side. In addition, there is still room for a cupboard with a drawer for a hotplate inside, handy when it is a bit too harsh outside. There are drawers and cabinets under the bench. There is certainly no shortage of storage space.

Spacious Sleeping

There is also no shortage of standing height, with the lifting roof up  there is an abundance of it, besides ventilation through the windows with a mosquito net in front. To be able to sleep here as well is an option. But in terms of size it is then mainly suitable when you like each other quite a bit.

The bed on the ground floor is a lot more spacious. This is ready in an instant. The back of the bench can be lowered a bit, after which you pull out an extension of the bed like a drawer. This slides out sideways to the full width of the bus. The bed that is created in this way has the princely dimensions of 1,8 x 2,1 meters. A comfort mattress has been placed with spring plates underneath. When there is no sleeping, the mattress also folds in and the bench reappears.

Cooking in nature

Amigo campers have an outdoor kitchen. There is something to be said for that. Cooking indoors in the dimensions of a Transporter is no fun.  Outside, however, you have plenty of space, and Amigo has used it to its full potential. Two large drawers offer space for a cool box, two-burner gas hob, sink with running water and plenty of work space.  Everything slides and closes without a hitch. Even in the demo models, there is no dent or splinter to be found. The kitchen also has a lot of storage space. Not only for a serious set of pans, cutlery and dishes, but also for provisions that do not need to be refrigerated.

This way you have a complete kitchen, everything at hand, with plenty of room to move and a beautiful view. Of course, there are also disappointing weather conditions, but you can counteract that with a side wall or a bus tent over the tailgate. Incidentally, you can simply leave such an inflatable tent standing if you have to go away with the car for a while.

Off grid

A solar panel is placed on the lifting roof that keeps the household battery charged. You can also connect the camper to shore power  and charge the engine as well. This is all arranged with a Victron installation including inverter. This shore power is therefore not always necessary. There are sockets and charging points for your phone throughout the camper. The LED lighting completes the night atmosphere.
