Camper site Buikheidehuys: in the green of the Kempen

Gijs and Monique would like to welcome you to Buikheidehuys in Wintelre, North Brabant, a camper site that opened its gates in April 2021 and has since been able to count on a loyal group of returning campers.

The camper meadow is part of a larger whole. Gijs and Monique also run a group accommodation, an event space and a holiday home for rent at the same location. It all started about eight years ago when they came to live here. The building of the group accommodation was already there then. They decided to renovate it in 2019 so that the accommodation is completely up to date again. However, the corona years also threw a spanner in the works here because no guests could be received. By looking at what was possible the camper place came into being. Campers are self-sufficient, the plot was already there, and then the calculation is quickly made.

The plot of land was made suitable, including the sanitary facilities. Since they were renovating anyway, they also immediately realized a holiday home. Today, all components on the site are fully operational. Guests of the camper meadow are also free to use the sports field of the group accommodation and the accompanying picnic benches.

Surroundings

A day in the city? Eindhoven is about 12 kilometers from Wintelre. Nice shopping, a visit to the DAF museum or strolling over the Down Town Gourmet Market. Wintelre is located in the middle of the Brabantse Kempen, a nature reserve to completely unwind. Or the Grootmeer and Kleinmeer in the Vessemse vennen. Ideal for a breath of fresh air on the shores of the lake or in the associated dune area.

Hospitable

Gijs and Monique find it important to create a friendly and hospitable atmosphere. For example, you only pay upon departure, which gives you the freedom to stay an extra night if you like it here. The couple's twins like to help out every now and then and earn some extra money. They are therefore allowed to go along the campers with the go-kart to sell eggs and vegetables. In the reviews of the guests, only enthusiastic stories are going around. "We made a good choice. The camper meadow is a success.
