No Camping & Caravan Annual Fair in 2020
The Kampeer & Caravan Industry has decided, in consultation with Jaarbeurs Utrecht, not to organize the Kampeer & Caravan Jaarbeurs this year. This means that the largest camping fair in the Netherlands will not take place in October.
The corona situation has forced the KCI board to decide to cancel the fair. “That is of course a difficult decision and as a trade organization we had to make that decision with pain in our hearts,” says KCI chairman Leo Diepemaat.
The decision is especially hard because the popularity of camping has grown explosively in recent years. What also leaves a bitter taste is the fact that camping as a form of holiday has received an extra boost due to the corona crisis.
“In addition, organizing such a large-scale national camping event requires a long preparation time. Unfortunately, we were therefore no longer able to postpone the decision whether or not to continue. And that hurts,” Leo states again. “Especially when you know that the 2019 edition of the Camping & Caravan Jaarbeurs attracted a record number of almost 50.000 visitors.”
A big setback for the camping industry.
