Campolife is growing and expanding with Hymer and Eriba

Anyone who enters the Campolife showrooms in Heinenoord immediately notices that the camping company is on the move. Between the gleaming semi-integrated motorhomes, compact van conversions, and a variety of caravans, the same familiar story is heard: vacation doesn't start at the campsite, but here with the choice of the right camping vehicle. Yet something has changed. Campolife is no longer just the well-known camping store, motorhome and caravan specialist from the Hoeksche Waard. The company has grown into a player with ambitions that extend beyond its own region.

This season, that growth is given a face with the arrival of two new brands: HYMER motorhomes and ERIBA caravans. With this, Campolife adds premium brands to an assortment that has already become considerably broader in recent times. Where customers could previously mainly find brands like Dethleffs, Sunlight, McLouis, Benimar, Knaus, and Fendt, an extra layer is now added: more choice, more segments, and more opportunities to compare different camping styles in one place.

For decades, HYMER has been one of the leading names in the higher motorhome segment. The German brand is associated with comfort, innovative technology, and high-quality finishing. Most models are based on a Mercedes. For campers who seek not only freedom on the road but also luxury and ease of driving, HYMER is a recognizable benchmark. The models focus on long journeys, comfortable living, and relaxed driving. Thus, the brand suits a growing group of motorhome owners who see their vehicle not as a seasonal product, but as an extension of a mobile lifestyle.

ERIBA serves a different, but at least as recognizable, audience. The caravans are known for their compact construction, smart layouts, and distinctive design. Especially the ERIBA Touring, with its characteristic pop-top roof, has cult status among enthusiasts. The ERIBA  model range is very broad, with, for example, the luxurious Novaline series, offering the ideal solution for every desire. These are caravans that respond to the need for light, agile, and stylish travel. In a market where many consumers want to travel more sustainably yet still desire comfort, this is a logical addition to Campolife's offering.

The introduction of HYMER and ERIBA is not an isolated event. It fits into a broader development that gained significant momentum in 2025 when Campolife joined forces with the Belgian Dicar. Dicar is a market leader in motorhomes in Belgium and has extensive experience in large-scale sales, purchasing, and service. Through the merger, Campolife and Dicar together form one of the largest camping companies in the Benelux. Campolife will continue to operate under its own name but is now part of the Dicargroup.

What is most important for customers is what doesn't change. The location on Langeweg in Heinenoord will be retained, as will the familiar faces, the personal approach, and the 8000m2 camping store with accessories. The workshop, which was renovated and modernized in 2023, is also prepared for the growing motorhome fleet. This allows Campolife to support the expansion of its brand offering with maintenance, repair, and accessory installation.

However, the scale on which Campolife operates is indeed changing. The merger with Dicar provides joint purchasing power, shared knowledge, and a stronger market position. In practice, this means a gigantic offering of new motorhomes and caravans that can be delivered from stock at more competitive prices. Directors Arnold Kriens and Gabi van de Wege previously summarized it as a promise to the customer: more choice and better availability, without the familiar service and personal approach disappearing.

In Heinenoord, that balance is tangible. On the one hand, there is the business logic of the collaboration: larger stocks, more brands, and a platform serving Dutch and Belgian campers. On the other hand, camping remains an emotional purchase. You choose a motorhome or caravan not only based on specifications but also on feeling. That is precisely why Campolife emphatically presents itself as more than just a point of sale. The company wants to guide customers from initial orientation to purchase and beyond. Storage, insurance, financing, accessories, and maintenance are part of the same process. For novice campers, this lowers the threshold; for experienced travelers, it makes comparing models and brands more transparent. The arrival of HYMER and ERIBA significantly increases that comparison space.

With HYMER, Campolife moves further into the premium motorhome segment. With ERIBA, the company strengthens its position in the caravan market with a brand that combines nostalgia, design, and practical innovation. And with Dicar in the background, that expansion gains more traction. This creates a camping platform in Heinenoord that can cater to both the traditional caravan customer and the modern motorhome traveler.
