ANWB Campsite of the Year 2021
The winners of the ANWB Campsite of the Year 2021 Awards have been announced in the various categories. This year, they were announced during the online event 'Camp to the future'. The honor has been awarded to four companies.
Four Categories
In this election, there is no longer a professional jury involved. The campsites are chosen entirely by Dutch campers. They give the campsites, divided into four categories, the necessary points. This is done based on nine different criteria. Not everything weighs equally heavily, so it is not the case that the campsite with the most voters is automatically the winner. The election has been held since 1987. Last summer, 25,000 people voted for their favorite campsite.
Both voters with their own camping equipment and renters of accommodations participated. The ballot boxes will open again next summer. From June, everyone can nominate their favorite campsite. But that's not yet the case. First, let's put this year's winners in the spotlight. For a whole year, the campsites below can call themselves ANWB Campsite of the Year 2021.

The Best Small Campsite
Camping De Nesse, Limmen: A very well-maintained and car-free mini-campsite. Also chosen as ANWB Campsite of the Year in 2019, it is located in a green area with a high hedge around it. All pitches have a tiled plateau. In addition, there is a sand/water playground and a small animal meadow. Charging points can be found in the large covered bicycle shed. The campsite is a good starting point for cycling tours. The Noord-Hollands Duinreservaat nature reserve is 4 km away.

The Nicest Family Campsite
Camping de Paal, Bergeijk: This campsite also won an award in the ANWB election in 2018 and 2019. Particularly suitable for young families or sporty peace seekers. With largely car-free, spacious pitches on streets or fields. There are also outdoor playgrounds, an indoor water playground and an extensive swimming pool complex with all conceivable forms of water recreation. There are also plenty of activities, such as the interactive children's theater and canoeing.

The Most Appreciated Rental Accommodation
Holiday Park Het Lierderholt, Beekbergen: Also an old acquaintance as a winner in this category. The campsite consists of a sloping, wooded area with many facilities and is largely car-free. Some of the pitches are directly adjacent to the wildlife route. In some fields, parents have a good view of their playing offspring. Every week there are guided nature tours. There is also regular live music. The campsite has a heated rectangular outdoor swimming pool and a heated toddler pool. This has a fun children's slide, fountains and water sprayers.

The Most Charming Campsite
Camping De Helfterkamp, Vaassen: A beautiful campsite where you experience peace and relaxation. Families with young children and seniors form the largest group of visitors. The camping fields are largely car-free. The atmosphere is also relaxed and friendly. There are playgrounds for the children. In bad weather, you can go to the farm shed or the hay barn. There is a library, TV and pool table. A food truck visits the campsite twice a week. In the nearby crown domains, many walking and cycling routes can be followed.
