Easy Caravanning introduces lightweight pop-top caravan

Exactly five years after the market introduction of the innovative cross-over camping concept TakeOff, Easy Caravanning will present a new sensational trade fair premiere at the Kampeer en Caravan Jaarbeurs (Utrecht – October 2 to 6). The 'GetAway' is positioned above the TakeOff and is clearly recognizable as its bigger brother with its modern aerodynamic design and characteristic forward-sloping pop-top. Easy Caravanning thus establishes itself in the popular market segment of compact pop-top caravans, which has been growing strongly in recent years due to the electrification of the vehicle fleet, among other things. The first achievements of the new GetAway are promising!

Wind Turbine and mountain road

Due to its trend-setting low unladen weight, the GetAway can be registered with either a 'white license plate' (with a maximum permissible mass of 750 kg) or its own license plate (with extra payload). This has been achieved by using high-quality PET foam in the floor and walls, an alternative furniture construction method with PU and sandwich panels, and technically coated textile used for the overhead lockers and shelves.

The GetAway is only 50 cm longer than the TakeOff and has the same exterior width. This means that the car's exterior mirrors can still be used. Despite its compact exterior dimensions, the designers have managed to create a surprisingly spacious interior. For example, it features a generous kitchen of 1.70 meters wide and a spacious toilet area with a lightweight unbreakable full-length mirror. While the TakeOff already caused a stir at the end of 2019 with its generous bed dimensions, the GetAway goes one step further with its king-size bed of 2.15 x 1.70 meters. At the front of the GetAway is a modular sleeping-lounge-seating area that can be transformed in an instant with the foldable and pull-out slatted bases, and the patented table construction whose top folds into the downward-rotating table leg. Furthermore, in the GetAway you have access to a spacious wardrobe and in the kitchen a 90-liter fridge-freezer combination, a 3-burner stove, a spacious sink, and plenty of cupboard space.

The GetAway is available in three trim levels, which, just like the TakeOff, are called Active (entry-level model), Sport, and Xcite (top model) respectively. All three versions are standard equipped with underfloor heating; depending on the chosen version, additional heating can be provided with a separate ceramic heater or thermostatic ring heating. The pop-top is equipped with built-in dimmable LED spotlights. For extra interior ambiance, the opening around the pop-top in the Sport and Xcite is also indirectly lit.

The North Holland tent atelier Karsten (co-shareholder of Easy Caravanning and known for its inflatable tents, among other things) has once again taken on the development of the intermediate canvas. In addition, just like for the TakeOff, a special modular and quick-to-set-up awning-tent concept 'X10T' has been developed.

Unlike other pop-top caravans, where the door is often no higher than 1.50 meters, the GetAway has a normal high caravan door. This has been achieved with a lowered entry in the side walls that extend under the floor and, as dark grey skirts, together with the fenders and front and rear bumper, give the GetAway an extra design element. With the high entry and large bed sizes, Easy Caravanning deliberately also caters to taller campers.

As an Active, the GetAway costs € 27,995; for the Sport and Xcite, € 31,795 and € 33,495 respectively must be paid at the dealer. While the Sport comes to market with extensive standard equipment, the Xcite includes 17” alloy wheels with run-flat tires, a Blaupunkt audio system with bi-directional streaming, E-Trailer tire pressure monitoring, and ring heating as just a small selection from the very rich list of extras.

In just five years, Easy Caravanning, together with Karsten Tenten, shows that, in addition to all products and brands from the large established German and French manufacturer groups such as Hymer, Trigano, and Knaus, there is always a market for new innovative camping concepts. Easy Caravanning does this by specifically responding to the transition of the vehicle fleet and emphasizes this in its communication with the new slogan 'Easy Caravanning takes you further'. All the benefits, none of the burdens, whereby due to the limited exterior dimensions, the aerodynamic properties, and the low unladen weight, the range of the towing vehicle is maintained as much as possible. This makes the products, partly due to their ease of use, ideally suited for adventurous road trips.

You can find Easy Caravanning at the Kampeer en Caravan Jaarbeurs in Utrecht at stand number E 0.31 in hall 10. For further information, product configurator, and dealer addresses, see www.easycaravanning.com.
