Fendt Bianco Selection 550 SKM: Family caravan with bunk bed
The Fendt Bianco Selection 550 SKM was not part of the product range for some time. But the bestseller of yesteryear is completely back, and with a K in the type designation. Now, 'kinderbed' in German is 'Kinderbett', so what that K stands for is easy to guess. Bunk bed, then. This consists of a bunk bed at the back. For mom and dad, a French bed is provided at the front.
The German caravan builder Fendt is a popular brand in the Netherlands. And that is actually an understatement, as it is the best-selling caravan here. This could be because the choice at Fendt is “riesig” (huge). This German neighbor has no less than six caravan series in its catalog. This means that there is always a suitable model available for couples and families of various backgrounds. The Bianco Selection 550 SKM is a true family caravan in that lineup.
Separate Sleeping Areas
At the front, on the left side, for a loving couple, you'll find a French bed measuring 140 by 200 cm. Adjacent to the right is the bathroom with a toilet, shower facility, and a sink. All the way at the back is the play paradise with a bunk bed for the children. In the middle of the living area, you can lounge on a four-person seating area with the kitchen opposite. To the left of this compact but very usable pantry, the refrigerator has found its place. Next to the seating area, a wardrobe ensures wrinkle-free hanging of clothes. Both the adult and children's sections are separated from the rest by a curtain. How a thin layer of fabric can still provide sufficient privacy.

A larger family can convert the seating area into a fifth sleeping place. After making it up, this bed measures 102 by 179 cm. If converting it every day is too much trouble, or if you prefer not to sacrifice the seating area too early to give a child enough sleep, it is also possible to order a bunk bed for three. The standard maximum weight of 1700 kg then becomes a generous 2000 kg. This means an extra 300 kg of belongings can be stowed in the garage. That garage is created by folding up the bottom bunk bed. With a garage hatch, the space is also easily accessible from the outside.

The 550 SKM is the Heintje Davids among caravans. The model was previously sold in 2019. However, Fendt has improved the caravan in detail and re-included it in the program. One of the improvements is the fixed wooden ladder of the bunk bed, which has been replaced by a loose aluminum version. The Fendt Bianco Selection 550 SKM has an overall length of 7.74 m. The width is 2.32 m. Inside, the headroom is 1.95 meters. The caravan stands firmly on an AL-KO chassis. The Bianco Selection series also consists of five different sizes and layouts, of which the 550 SKM is the largest.
