Luxury camping increasingly popular among Dutch people
Luxury camping, also known as glamping, is gaining popularity among Dutch people. More and more often, people choose a camping holiday with that little bit of extra comfort and luxury. Whereas until years ago we mainly saw that true nature lovers chose a camping holiday, this is different with all the luxury of today. Did you know that you can, for example, also stay overnight in a luxurious safari tent, where you are provided with all conveniences, just like in a hotel? These tents have their own shower and toilet, luxurious beds, and you have the option to cook yourself. But what exactly makes more and more people choose glamping?
Why do Dutch people choose luxury camping?
The answer is actually very simple! Luxury camping combines the adventurousness of camping with the comfortable facilities of hotels. You can enjoy the outdoors and the freedom that a campsite offers, while at the same time enjoying luxurious accommodations and amenities. Recent research has therefore shown that especially in the past 3 years, camping at a glamping has increased enormously. The main reason given is that we are having increasingly warmer summers in our own country, but also that the prices of a holiday abroad have become more expensive. This combination means that many people are perfectly happy to just stay in their own country.
Different types of glampings
When we talk about glamping, most of us naturally think of a luxurious tent. In many cases, this is true, but there are many more options for luxurious camping. How about, for example, a beautiful treehouse or a lodge where you can stay with 4, 6, or even 8 people? Ideal for both families and groups of friends who want to enjoy nature, but in luxury. This means that there is a suitable glamping for every type of holiday. It is useful to check in advance what facilities are available. You can imagine that families with (young) children have different requirements than when you are just with a couple of friends.
The advantages
We have already mentioned it, but one of the advantages is that a holiday in your own country is often more affordable in comparison. First of all, you don't have to travel. At least, often no longer than an hour or two. You also don't have to bring anything other than some clothes and maybe groceries for the first day. In addition, most glampings have a swimming pool, restaurant (often several) and an entertainment team, so that the children can also entertain themselves perfectly. This way, as parents, you can enjoy yourself while the children can play happily during the day and in the evening. Because we are not always guaranteed good weather in the Netherlands, you can also consider looking at glampings in Spain, Italy and also France.
