Beautiful and nicely original Westfalia t2 Madrid. Built in 1973 by Westfalia just on the new T2 with the high-mounted turn signals. These first T2B still had the fuel cap and some other characteristics of the T2A, so this intermediate model from 1973 is also called a T2A/B.
 
The Westfalia SO72/5, or the Madrid camper interior, was one of the three available interiors that year.
The Helsinki is better known but lacks the spacious cabinet wall on the right side of the van. Type Luxembourg was not equipped with the handy fold-out hob.
The interior is neat with some light wear here and there, but completely original. The pop-top roof canvas has been replaced once, as have the curtains. Naturally in the original color and quality.
 
The 1800 engine was replaced not too long ago with a reconditioned unit, and the paint was resprayed a few years ago due to wear. Nothing welded, puttied or restored. This Madrid was and is simply completely original, rust-free and damage-free.
However, a window rubber has been replaced here and there during the respray, but all good rubbers have remained original. All handles and locks are also still original and in excellent condition. No poorly closing doors due to after-market door rubbers and poorly feeling handles and locks on this beautiful T2!
