Beautiful and nicely original Westfalia t2 Madrid. Built in 1973 by Westfalia just on the new T2 with the high-mounted turn signals. These first T2Bs still had the fuel flap and some other features of the T2A, so this intermediate model from 1973 is also called a T2A/B.
The Westfalia SO72/5, or the Madrid camper interior, was one of the three available interiors that year.
The Helsinki is better known but does not have the spacious cupboard wall on the right side of the bus. The Typ Luxemburg was not equipped with the handy fold-out hob.
The interior is neat with some light wear and tear here and there, but otherwise completely original. The pop-top canvas has been replaced once, as have the curtains. Naturally in the original color and quality.
The 1800 engine was recently replaced with a reconditioned one, and the paint was repainted a few years ago due to wear. Nothing welded, filled or restored. This Madrid was and is completely original, rust-free and damage-free.
However, some window rubbers have been replaced here and there during the respray, but all good rubbers have remained original. All handles and locks are also still original and in excellent condition. No poorly closing doors due to aftermarket door rubbers and poorly feeling handles and locks on this beautiful T2!
