Unique cycling in Limburg

Looking for a fun destination for a weekend getaway? Belgian Limburg has something special: two exceptional cycling experiences. One for real water lovers and one for tree lovers. You can cycle right through a pond or high along the tops of trees. Read more about this unnatural experience with our southern neighbours.

Cycling through the water

Cycling through the water, it may sound like an unnatural wonder, but it is actually possible. It is possible in Bokrijk. Bokrijk is an open-air museum of no less than 550 hectares, so there is plenty to see. In the beautiful nature reserve you can cycle and walk through the water, without getting wet! A large cycle path has been constructed right through the ponds of the Wijers. Cycle through a 3-meter wide path with the water next to you at eye level. In our opinion, this is a unique experience, but we are not the only ones. In two years, 150,000 cyclists have already cycled through the pond.

Cycling through the trees

In addition to Cycling through the Water, Limburg now also has a second great cycling experience: Cycling through the tops of the trees. You can experience this in the beautiful Bosland of Limburg, Belgium. You cycle through a double circle up to 10 meters high with a length of 700 meters, between the trees. This literally brings you into the higher spheres of nature. This iconic cycle bridge is a double circle with a diameter of 100 meters. The cycle path gradually rises so that it does not become a huge climb to reach the tops of the trees. Thanks to this special construction, you experience an ultimate 360° cycling tour.

Bosland is the largest contiguous forest area in Flanders and, in short, it is beautiful. This beautiful nature area also succeeds in connecting people and nature. Just like with Cycling through the Water, you experience a unique cycling experience through nature. You experience nature in a completely different way and you get the feeling as if you are floating through the trees. Thanks to the well-thought-out construction, you get the idea that it becomes one with nature.
