For the inhabitants of Central Limburg and regular visitors to the Maasplassen, it's no longer a secret: this area is unique in its diversity. There's an incredible amount of fun to be had. How about swimming, surfing, sailing, diving, rowing, canoeing, wakeboarding and water skiing? Visit one of the modern marinas, enjoy a day at one of the beautiful day beaches or catch fish at one of the excellent fishing spots.

Maasplassen: a beautiful water area

To get an impression of the size and beauty of the Maas, the Maasplassen and other Central Limburg waters, it is recommended to make use of the various boat trips and cruises that depart from Roermond, Maasbracht, Thorn, Stevensweert and Wessem over the beautiful water area. For walkers and cyclists, a network of ferries has been set up, connecting Thorn, Wessem and Stevensweert not only with each other, but also with the Belgian Ophoven-Kinrooi.

Fancy staying in this area for a while? In Central Limburg, you can camp to suit your needs. For example, choose a cozy, bustling campsite that is a bit larger. Or do you prefer a small-scale farm or mini-campsite? How relaxing it is to camp in the middle of nature, or even directly by the water. Enjoy a beautiful sunset in the glistening Maas. Explore Central Limburg from the water

Also fun: exploring the Maasplassen by boat. Handy if you are the happy owner of a boat yourself, but you can of course also rent a boat. Gently gliding over the water, you can then explore this beautiful nature reserve. And then go ashore for a snack and a drink in one of the many restaurants. Enjoy!
