Special cycling in Limburg

Looking for a nice destination for a weekend getaway? Belgian Limburg has something special: two exceptional cycling experiences. One for real water lovers and one for tree lovers. You can cycle straight through a pond or high along the tops of trees. Read more about this unnatural experience with our southern neighbors.

Cycling through the water

Cycling through the water may sound like an unnatural miracle, but it is actually possible. It is therefore possible in Bokrijk. Bokrijk is an open-air museum of no less than 550 hectares, so there is plenty to see. In the beautiful nature reserve of you can cycle and walk through the water without getting wet! A large cycle path has been constructed straight through the Wijers ponds. Cycle through a 3 meter wide path with the water next to you at eye level. As far as we are concerned, this is of course a unique experience, but we are not the only ones. In just two years, 150.000 cyclists passed through the pond.

Cycling through the trees

In addition to Cycling through the Water, Limburg now also has a second great cycling experience: Cycling through the tops of the trees. You can experience this in the beautiful Bosland of Limburg, Belgium. You cycle via a double circle up to a height of 10 meters with a length of 700 meters, between the trees. This literally takes you into the higher realms of nature. This iconic bicycle bridge is a double circle with a diameter of 100 meters. The cycle path rises gradually so that it is not a huge climb to get to the tops of the trees. Thanks to this special construction you will experience the ultimate 360° bike ride.

Bosland is the largest contiguous forest area in Flanders and, in short, beautiful. This beautiful nature area succeeds in connecting people and nature. Just like with Cycling through the Water, you experience a unique cycling experience through nature. You experience nature in a completely different way and you get the feeling as if you are floating through the trees. Thanks to the well-thought-out construction, you get the feeling that it is becoming one with nature.
