Five advantages of a camper van

Five advantages of a camper van

Especially in recent years, camper vans have been increasing in popularity. Many (compact) camper vans are also driving around on Dutch roads. And not without reason. With a camper van, you can reach the most beautiful places! We give you five advantages of a camper van.

1 – Good construction

As you can already see from the name, a camper van is built on the basis of a (delivery) van. Fiat Ducato is most commonly used for this, but also, for example, Mercedes Sprinter, Citroën and Peugeot. The exterior of a camper van therefore consists of a metal body. And that is much sturdier than, for example, aluminum or polyester, which is used for other campers and caravans.

2 – A lot of freedom

One of the advantages of a camper van is that it is compact. Both in length and width. This makes it easy to drive. Very handy, especially during city trips, or in places where the roads are narrower. And of course, parking is also easier with a camper van. Not only during your holiday, but also in front of your house. This means you can easily go away for a weekend: your camper van is already parked in front of the door anyway.

And what about a nice day trip? Choose a beautiful nature reserve in the Netherlands, enjoy the journey there and enjoy all the facilities your camper van offers at your destination. A cup of coffee is made in no time! And even after a party at friends' houses, you can easily arrange an overnight stay. Your familiar bed in your own camper van sleeps so comfortably.

3 – Daily use

Especially compact camper vans are also used for daily transport. So you can choose to trade in your passenger car for a camper van. Because you can easily do your groceries with it, visit your family and go on holiday. You often don't need an extra driving license for it, as most camper vans are not heavier than 3500 kg and do not have more than 8 passenger seats. This does mean, however, that if you buy a used camper van, there are often more kilometers on the odometer: good to keep an eye on.

4 – Fully equipped

Many camper vans are cleverly laid out. This ensures sufficient comfort during your camping holiday. You have everything at your disposal within a few square meters. In any case, every camper van has a transverse bed in the back. Sometimes two extra sleeping places have been added to the camper by means of a pull-down bed. The somewhat larger camper vans sometimes even have a toilet and/or shower. And of course, there is a dinette and kitchen.

5 – Affordable

Because a camper van is compact, the price is also in line with that. Other types of campers are usually more expensive, with the luxury integrated camper in the highest price segment. Because camper vans are often in the lower price range, they are an ideal option for camping enthusiasts with a somewhat smaller budget. In addition, fuel consumption is often lower than with other, larger types of campers.
