What started as a playful idea to convert an empty company van into a cool camper has grown into a thriving camper building company in just a few years. Why? Karakter Campers is a company where attention to detail and personal care are central. And that is clearly reflected in the interior of your dream home on wheels.
Karakter Campers is an initiative of Marte and Guus. Partners who strengthen each other in what they do, building unique bus campers. Marte specializes in the technical aspects such as the installation of the electrical system, the construction of furniture, or fine woodworking.
Guus is the one who handles everything else and focuses on the creative side. She ensures that every project runs smoothly. As the creative conscience of Karakter Campers, she devises an interior design that truly makes a camper with Character.
Karakter Campers started almost three years ago, and in that time, about 15 projects have been completed, none of which are alike. Almost every type of bus is suitable to be transformed into a custom camper by Karakter Campers. You purchase the bus yourself. The process from bus to camper begins afterward. Based on a mood board, Karakter Campers translates your wishes into a design. Then all the details are filled in, resulting in a definitive design. The construction phase then follows. Marte gets to work to realize everything in detail. During construction, you are regularly kept informed, and you are always welcome at the workshop in Nijmegen.
The result is a camper that fully meets your personal wishes and use. That's not so much in the building itself. That's what it should be, seamlessly fitting and perfectly finished. And whether a man or woman does that doesn't matter, of course. The journey to get there does make a difference. Attention is paid in a different way to formulating what suits you, and everything is possible in that. Usually, it's the other way around. There is already a design with a few possible variations, and then it seems like custom work. With a Karakter Camper, that's really different. Just look at the realized projects; each one is surprisingly different from other campers, while they are completely different from each other. The icing on the cake, finally, is the finish. Because all Karakter Campers also have one thing in common: the interior always looks incredibly cozy.
