What started as a fun idea to convert an empty company van into a cool camper has grown into a flourishing camper construction company in just a few years. Why is that? Karakter Campers is a company where attention to detail and personal attention are central. And that is clearly reflected in the interior of your dream home on wheels.
Karakter Campers is an initiative of Marte and Guus. Partners who strengthen each other in what they do, building unique bus campers. Marte specializes in the technology such as the installation of the electrical system, the construction of furniture or the fine woodwork.
Guus is the one who arranges everything around it and focuses on the creative side. She makes sure that every project runs smoothly. As the creative conscience of Karakter Campers, she comes up with an interior design that really makes it a camper with Character.
Karakter Campers started almost three years ago and in that time about 15 projects have been completed, none of which are the same. Almost every type of bus is suitable for Karakter Campers to transform into a custom camper. You purchase the bus yourself. The process from bus to camper then begins. Using a mood board, Karakter Campers translates your wishes into a design. Then all the details are filled in, resulting in a definitive design. Then follows the construction phase. Marte gets to work on it to realize everything down to the last detail. During the construction you will be kept informed regularly and you are always welcome in the workshop in Nijmegen.
The result is a camper that fully meets your personal wishes and use. That is not so much in the building itself. That is what it should be, seamlessly fitting and perfectly finished. And whether a man or a woman does that of course does not matter. The road to get there does make the difference. Attention is paid in a different way to formulating what suits you and everything is possible in that. Usually it is the other way around. There is already a design with a few variations possible and then it looks like custom work. With a Karakter Camper that is really different. Just look at the completed projects, they are all surprisingly different from other campers while they are completely different from each other. The icing on the cake is finally the finish. Because all Karakter Campers also have one thing in common, the interior looks incredibly cozy in all cases.
