NCC Camping de Rolle in Hardenberg: Visit the Introductory Weekend

The Dutch Caravan Club is an association of some 1600 enthusiastic and active caravan owners. The association focuses on stimulating the tourist use of caravans and also campers, both domestically and abroad. And it has been doing so for about 65 years. NCC members can use 12 of their own club sites. Beautifully situated in the woods, with waterways at the doorstep or by the sea.

To experience the benefits of membership, the club is organizing an introductory weekend on September 22 and 23 for (yet to be) non-members. An excellent opportunity to experience the fun and pleasant aspects of the NCC campsite de Rolle in Hardenberg. And that's quite a lot, especially for those seeking peace and quiet, cycling enthusiasts, or hikers.

Idyll on the Vecht

Camping de Rolle is located on the Vecht, the Overijssel one, that is. A lovely river that meanders through a beautiful hedgerow landscape. Near the campsite, you can find canoe and electric sloop rentals to experience this up close. The Overijssel Vecht is a rainwater river that originates in Germany. Its length is 167 kilometers, 60 km of which are in the Netherlands. Its source is in Münsterland and it flows into the Zwarte Water near Zwolle. From the campsite, there are a few places where you can relax on the bank of the gently rippling waterway.

Forest as far as the eye can see

For a good hike or a brisk bike ride, you are in paradise. The campsite borders directly on an extensive forest area, interspersed with some fields and farms. Wonderful for walking through or planning a bike tour. A nice destination is the Oldemeijer swimming lake. A large beach by a refreshing forest lake.

City antics

If you are looking for a nice and tasty restaurant or want to do some shopping, Ommen and Hardenberg are the closest. You can get there in half an hour by bike. Both towns are located on the Vecht with all the terrace possibilities that offers. It's a nice place to live, but due to its picturesque location in the Vechtdal, you'll get your fill as a holidaymaker, the facilities are geared to that.

The introductory weekend

The NCC is an association you'd better join. For a small annual fee, you are welcome at this campsite and the other 11 that the club owns and manages. The overnight rate is also extremely reasonable, meaning that with just a few days a year, you earn back your membership fee. But if all that isn't convincing enough, visit the introductory weekend. You don't have to worry about the costs, the overnight costs are halved and amount to € 8.- excluding electricity and tourist tax. Of course, a number of fun activities are organized. You are welcome from Friday. On Saturday around noon, there will be a presentation by the NCC, followed by a guided tour through the woods, a wine tasting, and as soon as it's five o'clock, Happy Hour. There are no obligations, doing absolutely nothing is also an option.

On Sunday there is a round of 'klootschieten' (a traditional Dutch ball game).
