Campravan Raptor XC: 7m compact teardrop.

Nice, such a teardrop caravan in an off-road version, but is there any comfort left? The Campravan Raptor XC provides a clear answer to this with a slide-out of over two meters. A cool, sturdy off-road camping trailer that takes up little weight and space on the towbar and in the storage. However, on a camping spot, preferably somewhere in the wild, you survive in a caravan of almost 7 meters with a bedroom, lounge, kitchen and bathroom.

Raptor XC

The Raptor To appeal to the adventurous in people, a generous dash of 4×4 sauce has been poured over it, resulting in a trailer that would not look out of place behind an army vehicle. This is not surprising since Campravan also focuses on the military and civilian sectors.

Camping trailers to drag into the bush have flown in from Australia. There they fit perfectly in the outback where asphalt is an exception. But with a completely different climate, you are mainly outside and the trailer is used during the day to transport your belongings. In Europe, however, we are more of an indoor sparrow. This gave Campravan the idea of designing a slightly larger camping trailer with more interior space. The first models on this basis are the NTR 3X and NTR 4X. Compact but with everything in it. A dinette, kitchenette and toilet room. But although quite a bit of window space has been used, that is still quite a lot of functions on the available floor space.

Spacious and Light

You will not easily feel claustrophobic in the Campravan Raptor XC. This teardrop looks incredibly spacious and light. Of course with the extra space that the slide-out provides, but also because of a large number of skylights. The combination of light and space makes the interior of the Campravan Raptor The rugged black painted exterior suggests something completely different. Coming home in the Raptor is all the more surprising.

Raptor XC

The Raptor XC offers all the amenities that can be found in a medium-sized touring caravan. But on the modest floor space of a teardrop. On the road, the Raptor XC is a mere 4,80 m long. At the camping spot you can extend the rear to create a length of no less than 6,90 m. There is sleeping accommodation for three people. And with a weight of 1.260 kg, not too heavy for most cars.

Division

The sleeping area can be found in the slide-out. It has an XXL mattress for two adults with enough storage space at the rear. The bedroom is separated from the rest of the interior by a small passage. The living room, we are still talking about a teardrop, consists of a lounge cum dining area with an L-shaped sofa and a folding table. You can lower this to create another single bed. The kitchen has a stainless steel countertop, sink, two-burner gas stove and a very decent 72L refrigerator. Next to the pantry there is a bathroom with a sink, toilet and shower.

Raptor XC

Off-Road

The Raptor XC stands on a steel AL-Co chassis with a structure made of aluminum inside and out. To prevent cold bridges, 2 to 4 cm of XPS insulation material has been used between the inner and outer walls. Because the Raptor feels best in off-road conditions, it is fitted with larger BFGoodrich all-terrain tires. There is no rigid axle, the wheels are independently sprung with shock absorbers that can take a beating.

The Raptor XC is of course not a bargain, the design is too ingenious and the execution too complete. The price strongly depends on what you additionally order. Almost everything is possible, but not everything is necessary. Around 40 grand you are further away from parking this Outback trailer ready to go in front of your door. The nearest importer is located in Germany.
