Derubis Caravans Series 7: welcome aboard

After 30 years of shipbuilding, the Bosnian shipyard Derubis felt like doing something different. That resulted in a Derubis Series 7 caravan, in which you can see the roots of a boat builder. A dazzling start to a formidable eye-catcher.

Derubis

A striking feature of the tandem-axle Derubis Series 7 is its monocoque construction. Just like in shipbuilding, it is made from a laminate of fiberglass-reinforced polyester. Where the hull of a boat must be watertight to prevent bubbling, the same construction method for a caravan benefits from the same watertight advantage. In addition, polyester, unlike aluminum, is not a good heat conductor. This means insulation works better without sacrificing interior space. The monocoque construction also allows for any shape, and the shipyard/caravan builder has really gone wild with that. The Derubis Caravan stands out.

Luxury, Design and Comfort

The interior can also be described as nautical. Solid and finished to a higher standard than is usually the case with mass production. An L-shaped kitchen is placed in the middle. A large sofa with a view of a 50” TV can be converted into a bed of 1.6 x 2 meters. A fixed bed can be found in the front of the caravan. At 1.6 x 2.3 meters, it is ideal for tall people. A sliding door separates the living area from the sleeping area.

Sanitary pleasure in the Derubis Series 7

The bathroom in the Series 7 lives up to its name with flying colors. Both the design and the spacious layout are striking. In the middle, a washbasin with a mirror above it. On the right side, a toilet, and on the left, a real rain shower is installed.

Derubis

A caravan of shipbuilding quality. The design is striking in its solid construction. The interior lacks nothing and has the coziness of a pleasure yacht. Over a length of 8.7 meters, every cm2 has been utilized to create a good atmosphere. The price is also nautical. The Derubis Caravans Series 7 has a starting price of € 49,000. The towing vehicle also has certain requirements; ready to drive, it weighs approximately 1900kg.
