Fendt Bianco Primo 465 SFH: with many clever features

Fendt has been at the top of the list of best-selling caravans for a few years now, and the quality is high. In Stuttgart, the brand presented a new model: the Fendt Bianco Primo, with many clever features and a layout popular in the Netherlands.

The Bianco series is no stranger to the Dutch market. It is often used as a trial balloon for action models and new layouts that – if successful enough – are also implemented in other series. For example, several models have previously appeared on the market under the flag of the Bianco Activ. The Fendt Bianco Primo could also become a success.

Recognizable Fendt

On the outside, we recognize the Fendt by the off-white hammered plating, anthracite-colored decals, and light-alloy wheels in the same color. From Fendt, we are used to a lot of attention being paid to details, and here we see it, for example, in the recessed orange side marker lights integrated into the skirts. The service hatch is placed a bit higher so that the opened flap cannot touch the ground – that saves a muddy edge.

Another clever detail: the water cap. You can't lose it because it's attached to the water filler opening with a rubber strap. The drawbar box has a parallelogram closure and therefore opens almost vertically, so you can easily place gas bottles and easily access your other belongings. Also striking is the rear, with the integrated 'automotive' taillights: you could easily encounter them in a modern passenger car. The Primo also has self-adjusting AL-KO brakes, drawbar cover, and a stabilizer coupling.

Sense of space

Inside, we see a light wood color with the grain running horizontally – an optical trick that creates a sense of space. The cabinet doors are in duotone: cream-colored panels with wood inlay and matte chrome knobs and handles. Immediately next to the entrance, on the left, is the transversely placed Dometic refrigerator, whose door hinges on both sides. This way, you can open the refrigerator from the awning and don't have to go inside first to grab the olives and the bottle of wine.

Popular layout

The caravan has a popular layout with a dinette at the front and a so-called French bed at the back. The seating area features upholstery in three colors, giving the living lounge a playful effect. The overhead cabinets have open shelves at the bottom, so you can easily grab frequently used items – sunglasses, e-reader.

The compact kitchen has a small sink and a hob with three gas burners. Both have a glass cover plate. There is ample workspace on the countertop at the front. The kitchen has wide drawers and a narrow pull-out pantry with wire baskets. Next to it is a large wardrobe with another deep cupboard underneath for holiday luggage.

Opposite the kitchen, we see a furniture unit housing the 133-liter Slim Tower refrigerator (with freezer compartment), a swivel TV bracket, and a tall narrow cabinet with many shelves.

Then we come to the longitudinally placed double bed – the so-called French bed, with plenty of storage space underneath, also accessible from the outside via the service hatch. Clever Fendt detail: the foot end of the bed does not extend all the way to the wall unit, making it easy to tuck in your duvet. Next to the bed is the toilet area, which can optionally be extended with a shower.

At the foot end, there is also a small washbasin for the morning ritual. There is ample cupboard space for toiletries, and clothes can be stored in the ceiling cabinets above the bed.

Installations

From Fendt, we are used to water pipes, air hoses for the ring heating, and electrical wiring being neatly concealed, and this is also the case in the Primo. Heating and hot water come from the Truma Combi 4E, where the 'E' means it also works on 230 Volt – standard in the Primo and that deserves applause. The caravan has a built-in water tank, screen door, smoke detector, and it is iNet-prepared so you can (optionally) control all installations from an app.

Conclusion Fendt Bianco Primo

With the Bianco Primo, Fendt has once again developed a quality caravan with a popular layout for the Netherlands. Smart details show that the designers themselves also go camping. We are happy with the Truma 4E: a combi boiler that will save you a lot of gas bottles if you camp outside the high season. With many other brands, this is an option, and as a consumer, you just have to know that it even exists.
