Sprite Cruzer 635 SR: Flagship full of surprises
Sprite caravans come from the Swift factories in Great Britain. What makes them special is not only the typical 'British' layout, but also the level of equipment. With the Cruzer 635 SR, Sprite introduces a country house on wheels, with an interesting price level.
The Cruzer 635 SR is an almost 8-meter long twin-axle caravan with a width of 2.44 meters: literally and figuratively, this is the flagship of the British manufacturer. The caravan is loaded with all kinds of options and that at a very competitive price, especially if you compare it with German competitors.
A striking appearance
The Cruzer is a striking appearance, with its largely black front. A large three-part front window is mounted in the high-gloss nose, with the panoramic roof window directly above it. Together, these provide a lot of daylight in the caravan interior, and there is also an extra roof hatch above the living area on the roof.

Solid polyester
Front, rear and side walls are made of solid polyester and the bottom plate also has a polyester protective layer on the underside: excellent protection against splashing water and stone chips. You will not find wooden frames to give the caravan strength anywhere: Sprite was one of the first manufacturers to use durable plastics in its caravans. Of course, the roof is also made of polyester: good protection against hail.
The rear wall of the Cruzer has integrated taillights and maneuvering handles. You won't use the latter quickly, because a caravan of this size screams for a caravan mover. And one that is suitable for twin-axle caravans, because the total mass of the 635 SR – 1,900 or optionally 2,000 kg – is supported by a twin-axle chassis with four alloy wheels. The Cruzer has a drawbar cover, the spare wheel is on a carrier under the chassis and the caravan is equipped with an AL-KO AKS 3004 stabilizer.

Living area
Looking through the door, the enormous amount of daylight is striking. Front window, panoramic skylight and roof hatch are almost seamlessly installed, providing plenty of light in the living area. We see a typical British layout with two long benches, with a coffee table with storage space in drawers at the very front. The benches can be pushed together to create a second double bed, with generous dimensions: 228 x 163 cm. So you can even accommodate three (grand)children there.
The three-part front window is typical for English caravans, as is the kitchen, which is equipped with the indispensable oven and grill for Britons, where you can make toast. The kitchen is also equipped with a microwave at eye level and a narrow, tall 133-liter Dometic refrigerator placed directly next to the entrance door.
Large bathroom
The surprises follow after the kitchen, because behind a large door we find the large bathroom, with a spacious shower on the left and a (swiveling) toilet with washbasin and a storage unit on the right. With the door closed, you have plenty of privacy in the bathroom.
The next door leads to the bedroom, where a so-called queen bed is placed transversely in the room, with the headboard against the left side wall. You can walk all the way around the bed, which greatly facilitates getting in and out – so you don't have to climb over each other during a nocturnal visit to the toilet. On either side of the headboard we see hanging wardrobes for clothes and there are sufficient cupboards against the ceiling. In terms of styling, a light wood color has been chosen, combined with cream upper cabinets in the kitchen and matching upholstery for furniture and curtains. And also pay attention to the splashback behind the kitchen and the window covering in the bedroom: it gives the Cruzer a modern, contemporary look.

Installations
Sprite caravans are known for their extensive standard equipment, and this is also reflected in this flagship. Such as the richly equipped kitchen, the audio system with speakers that also allow you to stream your own music. The Cruzer is also equipped with the Swift Command System with which you can operate many installations and check the water supply. A Truma Combi 4 provides (ring) heating and hot water – given the size of the caravan, we would have preferred a Combi 6, and preferably the 6-E version, so that you can heat not only on gas but also on 230V.
Conclusion Sprite Cruzer 635 SR
The Sprite Cruzer 635 SR is a more than complete caravan from the top segment, with excellent construction, good finish and excellent equipment. The flagship has serious dimensions and therefore requires a serious caravan tow vehicle that must be able to tow at least 1,900 kilos. With a starting price of just over 30 grand, you get a lot of caravan for your money.
