Fendt Bianco Activ 390 FHS: popular layout
The German brand Fendt is the market leader when it comes to newly sold caravans in the Netherlands. The Bianco 390 FHS is an interesting caravan for the Dutch market, due to its modest dimensions and the French bed.
For years, Hobby was ranked among the best-selling caravans, but Fendt has been at the top of that ranking for several years now. The Bavarian manufacturer from Mertingen offers a total of 44 floor plans, twelve types of coverings and 5 different wood decors – so there is plenty to choose from.
Exterior Fendt
On the outside, the Fendt caravans have been given a different striping for the 2020 model year that makes them look just a little bit spicier than previous years. The traditional hammering of the aluminum plating has remained. Smart details include the water cap for the drinking water tank, which - just like the fuel cap on passenger cars - is attached to the caravan with a handy string. So you will never lose it again.
The fact that Fendt designers themselves also camp is also evident from other clever features such as the service hatches that are mounted so high in the caravan wall that when opened they do not hang on a muddy lawn but just above it. The door has been newly developed for the 2020 model year and the wheel arches have been given better insulation.
Ease of use
The Fendt Bianco Activ 390 FHS has only been slightly adjusted for the 2020 model year, but that small change ensures a lot of ease of use. In this model, the kitchen is against the back wall and the new 133 liter Dometic refrigerator is turned a quarter turn. So that you can immediately grab something from the Slim Tower refrigerator from the awning. And because the Slim Tower is hinged on both sides, you can also take something directly from the refrigerator indoors. The kitchen has a three-burner gas stove and a sink made of one piece of stainless steel, neatly integrated into the worktop and equipped with safety glass cover plates. Below that we see three spacious storage drawers.
Comfortable train seating dinette
The train seating dinette is placed directly next to the kitchen, with comfortable corner cushions against the caravan wall, so you can lazily read a book. Furniture is made in a fresh, light wood color and wall cabinet flaps are in white. Here we also see the newly developed gooseneck reading lamps for 2020 and the open compartments directly under the upper cabinets are striking, useful for small items. We also see a smart detail in the wardrobes, which are equipped with a motion sensor so that the light in the wardrobe flickers on every time you open it.

The French bed is placed against the front of the caravan: a double bed along the length of the caravan, with a bevelled point at the foot end. So you can easily reach the washing area, with a sink and sufficient storage space for toiletries. The toilet is next to the head of the bed, against the front wall of the caravan, on the right side. You can also optionally order a shower - the toilet room is already prepared for this.
Installations
The caravan is equipped with a fixed drinking water tank and hot water comes from the Truma Combi-4, which is also used as heating. Water and gas pipes are neatly concealed, as we are used to from Fendt, and this also applies to the electrical wiring.
Conclusion caravan test Fendt Bianco Activ
This Bianco Activ is a compact two-person caravan. The caravan is equipped with smart details that will be greatly appreciated by experienced campers. The new kitchen layout with the Dometic Slim-Tower refrigerator ensures even more ease of use and the caravan is finished to the highest standards. One small point of criticism: the lack of USB connections near the bed - the dealer will have to solve that.
