Things to do in the Ardennes
Visit Dinant. The city seems to be built against a steep rock face, with a huge citadel on top. You can go up with the cable car, then an exciting tour inside the meter-thick walls and back down the 408 steps to the cozy center. www.citadellededinant.be
Must-sees in the Ardennes
The world-famous Caves of Han with a wildlife park. A historic tram takes you to the entrance of the caves for a tour between limestone (360 million years old!), stalactites and stalagmites. Afterwards you can walk or take the open safari car through the wildlife park.
You must taste it in the Ardennes
Orval beer! Cistercian monks live and work in the Trappist monastery of Orval. They brew 70,000 hectoliters of Orval beer annually. The Trappist beer is for sale in the shop and in the cozy brasserie A l'Ange Gardien you can eat and taste the special Trappist beer.
