Special camping: in Enschede among the shoppers!

This coming weekend, camping enthusiasts can spend the night with their camper on the Van Heekplein. This initiative is being tried out for the first time this year. The event is called 'Camper spot on the square' and is organized by the Reuring Foundation. “We hope that we can fill the square. And of course it would be great if people came with separate campers,” says Inge Schuller of the foundation.

Do you want to sleep among the shoppers?

Campers are welcome at Van Heekplein from 21:00 PM and can stay there until about 19:00 PM the next day! This gives you every opportunity to explore the city, walk between the shops on shopping Sundays and have a nice breakfast somewhere in the city.

Maximum 40 campers

The organization has obtained the permit and is allowed to place 40 campers on the square. They therefore ask everyone who wants to come to register. They will do everything they can to make it as pleasant as possible. From live music to a pub quiz.

No tents

The camping site is exclusively for recognized campers. So you are not allowed to set up a tent on the square. For a camper with two people, an internship fee of 12,50 euros is charged. If a third or fourth person comes to stay, it will cost an extra 2,50 euros per person. And very practical: discharge of dirty water and chemical toilet is not possible, and there are no showers. Public toilet facilities are available in the van Heek garage.
