Motorhome and Caravan of the Year 2020

For the year 2020, the title ANWB Motorhome of the Year goes to the Bürstner Lyseo M Harmony Line 660. The ANWB Caravan of the Year is the Dethleffs Nomad 490 BLF. These annual awards for the most innovative motorhome and caravan were recently presented by the ANWB in Utrecht.

The winning motorhome and caravan of the year 2020 were chosen by two different juries. Each jury consists of experts and journalists with extensive experience in the motorhome and caravan market. The jury made their choice from all models that are new or significantly renewed for the 2020 season. Assessment criteria include innovation, construction method and materials used, interior and exterior design, finish, equipment, originality, technical quality, usability, and value for money.

“Study and practice have come together in the Bürstner Lyseo M Harmony Line. The interior exudes relaxation, partly due to the luxurious and complete equipment. Next to the French bed is a large toilet room that, by folding away the mirror wall, transforms into a spacious shower for the user. The motorhome has an extra high ceiling at the front. Extra appreciation is given to the furniture element at the entrance, which includes a central control panel, TV spot, magnetic glass holders, bottle holder, and storage space. Car enthusiasts will be happy with the new 105 kW (143 hp) Mercedes Sprinter with rear-wheel drive and a range of standard safety features. With a payload of 450 kg, this seven-meter-long motorhome can easily be equipped with all sorts of extras without exceeding the maximum permissible weight,” according to the jury.

The jury on the Caravan of the Year: “Dethleffs takes the successful Nomad series to a higher level with modern and atmospheric layouts. The design shows boldness with a traditional dark wood decor. The Nomad 490 BLF with a French bed is particularly appreciated by the jury. Cooking enthusiasts will be delighted with the spacious kitchen, which is well-equipped with a large refrigerator and plenty of work and storage space. The kitchen and seating area are bathed in natural light that enters through the front window, roof window, and roof hatch. The ceiling panel, which forms a single unit with the roof window and roof hatch, features indirect mood lighting. A low cabinet next to the door enhances the spatial effect. The exterior has a designer rear bumper with LED lighting, a standard service hatch, and a hail-resistant roof.”
