Sustainable and light materials, low energy consumption and luxury play an important role in today's camping industry. How will we camp in the future? Especially for the Caravana 2019, designers from various colleges and universities give their vision of the camping equipment of the future.

duo x roof tentDesign 1: Duo

The Duo The tent is effortless to set up. The frame is inflatable with a built-in 12v compressor. This also inflates the bed and can be leveled with air compartments under the bed. These features make the tent ideal for any road trip. In addition, the tent can also be set up on the ground instead of on the car, which gives even more space in the tent. All this makes the Duo X ready for your next camping adventure.

Design 2: Backpack Tent by Theo van Cappellen

This tent is designed for survival boots who want to be one with nature, but want the assurance of a safe place to sleep. In addition, the user does not have to build their own sleeping place every time. The idea of ​​the Backpack Tent is that you can turn a backpack into a small tent. Like a caterpillar, you unfold the backpack into a sleeping bag. The user can lie down here and protect himself. You can unfold the tent by loosening a zipper in the middle of the backpack. After this, the tent can be extended into a tunnel.

Design 3: Cabit by Pascal Muskee

A modular caravan that grows with you. The Cabit consists of different modules. This way you can decorate the caravan entirely according to your own needs and change it when necessary. There are two basic modules: the front with drawbar and the rear. You choose what lies between these two modules. This can be a bedroom module and a small kitchen module. When the family expands, there may be a need for a children's room. This can be placed in a location of your choice in the caravan. All modules can also be removed later. There is also the option to convert the caravan into a camper. For this purpose, the front module can be replaced by a camper module with drive.

More and more young people are moving to the big one for the activities that can be found there. The choice for a hotel, hostel or a B&B is then quickly made, despite the high costs and the gray appearance. The Urban Platform is a floating mini campsite. Every large city often has a river, lake or canal, which is the ideal location for the camping feeling to arise. The mini campsite consists of modular platforms. The hexagonal shape makes them easy to connect with each other and can be arranged practically according to the situation. Sanitary facilities, lockers or a relaxation platform, all basic facilities available at a campsite are possible.

Design 5: Ultimate Escape by Anno Visser

This multifunctional roof tent fits on any car and can be set up and taken down within 1 minute with one smooth pulling movement. The roof tent generates its own electricity through the solar panels on the roof. This electricity is stored in the batteries that are incorporated in the supporting structure of the tent and has various applications. The fold-out table has the option to connect different units, such as a hob, barbecue, lamps or even a coffee maker. The handy and large awning drains rainwater. Wet feet in a swampy place no longer occurs.

Want to feel the freedom of driving around in a camper and spending the night in a different location every night? You can open the Twist at your overnight stay, so that you are not closed off from the outside world inside your camper. This is ideal for camping in nature. If it is not possible to unscrew the Twist in a certain place, the camper can still be used comfortably in the turned in position.
