Unique camping: spending the night in a tuk tuk

Tuk tuks: normally you sit in such a nice cart when you have a tourist tour during your holiday or you see them tearing through the city as a delivery van. But now they can also be used as a real camping trailer and we are sold! Read all about the Elektrofrosch tuktuk.

Small but very nice, that is the Elektrofrosch. To put it simply what the Elektrofrosch is: It is a cheap electric tricycle with a tent and kitchen! You would think it would be very handy, so small and compact, but you should not forget that the battery is also very small. It can go about as fast as a scooter and after a generous 60 kilometers you can charge the cart again.

Models

This camping tuk tuk comes in two models, the Big and the Pro. The Big is available from €3.990, but what do you get for it? Of course first of all a super cute mini truck. It also includes a sleeping tent that offers space for two people, a sun sail and a mobile kitchen. Please note that the Big has an open cabin, so if it is cold you must dress warmly during the ride.

Then you have the Pro, especially for the luxurious cats among us. This version starts at €4.990. The pro offers everything the BIG has, but just a little more extensively. The cabin features a ceramic heater and even a USB connection. Plus the pro's cabin does have doors so you can sit nice and warm. In addition, the pro also offers a little more space. The sleeping place is larger and you can more easily store all your camping luggage.

The Electrofrosch

Once you have finally purchased your 'camping tuktuk', the adventure can begin. With a range of 60 kilometers, you will make quite a few stops. Ideal for the slow traveler. The electric pick-up is 2,74 meters long and weighs only 240 kilos (unladen). The portable aluminum kitchen module weighs approximately 10 kilos and the camping equipment weighs approximately 60 to 70 kilos. Despite its small size, the Elektrofrosch proves to be really strong. There is enough weight left for two people and the associated luggage.

We cannot deny that it is a very nice sight, but is it that useful? That will differ per person. You will make many stops to recharge, but you will discover many new places. Plus it's good for the environment too!
