Hobby Beachy: lightweight caravan for the beach
Hobby is launching a new caravan concept for 2022, the Hobby Beachy. A lightweight caravan that is completely inspired by beach life. With the retro look and the modern interior, Hobby wants to capture the beach feeling and 'vanlife'.
The most striking feature of the caravan is the large back door, which opens just like the tailgate of a camper. The seating group has therefore been placed in the rear part of the caravan, so you can sit comfortably and enjoy the view. This of course works perfectly on the beach, but also in other breathtaking places. The side sofas can be converted into a bed of 200 x 180 cm for the night.
Interior Hobby Beachy
As can be seen in the video below about the origins of the Beachy, the Danish designer Anne Halskov was commissioned to design the interior. The result is impressive: a warm, fresh and homely style, which is mainly aimed at the younger target group.
No gas
The kitchen unit on the front wall contains a 38 liter pull-out Dometic refrigerator and a sink that is connected to fresh water tanks and 13 liter waste water tanks. There is no gas stove. You can cook on a portable kitchen or a barbecue. There is also no space allocated for a bathroom. However, you can store a mobile toilet in the spacious wardrobe at the front.
Lightweight caravan
The smallest Hobby Beachy model weighs 900 kilos and can handle a load of 200 kilos. The aim is that the caravan can also be towed by electric cars. The Hobby Beachy is available in three layouts: 360, 420 and 450. Both the 360 and 420 are suitable for two adults and one child, while the 450 can accommodate two adults and two children. Prices start at 11.950 euros in Germany and increase by 1000 euros for the larger versions. The prices for the Netherlands are not yet known.
