Leaf Campervans is a label of Camper Centrum Baarn. Originating from the trade in commercial vehicles and their maintenance, since 2015 fully specialized in building bus campers and adapting existing ones. In addition to a resounding name, this is also a kind of quality mark given the vision behind it.

Sustainability

In the view of Leaf Campervans, it is better to keep the earth intact, otherwise there will not be much to enjoy with a camper. A Leaf Campervan is therefore designed to be as sustainable as possible. From 100% C02 neutral marmoleum to environmentally friendly bamboo as a building material. And from hybrid buses to odorless compost toilets. Completely self-sufficient is the standard.

But there is still a lot to gain. Every day, the Leaf Campervans team is looking for even better materials, options and working methods to further perfect the sustainable construction goal.

The team

When you visit the workshop where it all takes place, the first thing you notice is a pleasant working atmosphere. Everyone seems to be doing something they love most. It is therefore no wonder that most clients regularly come to see how the construction of their dream camper is progressing. Tom van de Grift is the initiator of Camper Centrum Baarn. “We want to make our product something special, something that is completely in accordance with the customer's wishes. Especially when they are unique and specific, we like a challenge.”

Tom sends two technicians to install refrigerators or heating. And no fewer than four furniture makers who place the interior in the curves of a van that was created in the client's wildest dreams. About 30 Leaf Campervans leave the workshop every year. The construction time to transform a company bus into a unique camping equipment is around 2 months. The cost of an average conversion is around €30.000.

4x4 for the wilderness

One of the latest creations from Leaf Campervans is a Mercedes Sprinter with four-wheel drive. Thick all-terrain tires and a row of searchlights on the roof of the cabin actually tell you that this camper is going to explore the rough. However, this is not necessary in a Spartan expedition vehicle. Leaf has installed a sleek and comfortable interior made of bamboo wood. With a solid core, this material can be kept much thinner than chipboard. It gives a much more subtle effect. LED light lines complete the atmosphere.

The interior houses everything needed to be self-sufficient. It only becomes visible, like a toilet or stove, when it is in use. It provides an amount of freedom of movement that cannot be compared with a factory bus camper.

In the workshop of Camper Centrum Baarn, five campers can be worked on at the same time. That's a bit tight, so an extra piece will be added. Camper Centrum Baarn will soon move with the entrance to Baarnschedijk 13. More space to produce unique camping equipment in addition to a reception and office that will welcome you.
