Record number of campers and caravans sold

The popularity of campers and caravans continues to grow unabated. In April we already reported that the 150.000th camper was sold, a record number of caravans and campers have now been sold in 2021: no less than 20.000! This is according to figures from BOVAG and RDC.

Up to and including May, more than 2021 percent more campers and 60 percent more caravans were sold in 25, both new and second-hand. This means that there are more caravans and campers in the Netherlands than ever.

The fact that this way of celebrating holidays is more popular than ever is also noticeable in the showrooms. This can be read, for example, on the website of the Brabants Dagblad. It is a challenge for dealers these days to have sufficient supply, because everything is sold quickly. And the delivery time for a new camper (organized according to your own wishes) is on average about a year, as can be read in this article.

Holiday at the campsite

The BOVAG therefore notes that many Dutch people will probably spend this summer camping. Due to the coronavirus and the associated measures, this was already a favorite last year. Especially when the sanitary facilities at campsites were closed, caravans and campers with their own facilities proved to be extremely popular. That development will continue this year.
