Tielen Campers: for a carefree camping holiday

Rick and Miranda Tielen's camper company is located in the middle of North Limburg's Peel, in the center of the idyllic village of America. The village is known to many for its holiday parks and Rowwèn Heze, but in the camper world it is now a household name because of the camper company Tielen Campers.

With a showroom of 1500 m2 and a large, modern workshop, the company has now grown into one of the larger camper companies in our country. The company was originally founded as a car company in the 90s. But when sales stagnated in the mid-XNUMXs, father and mother Tielen decided to switch to selling campers. In principle only sales, until it soon became clear that it was very important to also be able to take care of the total maintenance.

That is why their son Rick, who was working elsewhere as a car mechanic, became involved in the company. By following many courses, but especially by learning in practice, he ultimately succeeded in creating a beautiful workshop to serve camper owners in all areas.

From father to son

At the beginning of 2006, the company was passed on in its entirety from father to son Rick and daughter-in-law Miranda. Campers are their passion and their life and they both work diligently in the company every day. Rick Tielen: “Our strength is being big by staying small. Personal contact with our customers and good advice are of paramount importance to us. We want our customer to go home with the right camper. Moreover, it is important that the customer always has a fixed point of contact. They meet me again during sales in the showroom and in the workshop.”

Plenty of choice

The showroom has a wide choice of mainly young used campers. After the takeover, Rick and Miranda mainly focused on the sale of virtually new Carthagos and Hymers. “We want to sell quality and honest, beautiful campers,” says Miranda. “Our goal is to ensure that our customers can enjoy a carefree holiday with peace of mind.”

The range of layouts is diverse, so there is plenty of choice for everyone. In the workshop you can find everything related to campers. Both the total maintenance and MOT, as well as damage repair and the installation of all conceivable accessories. Tielen Campers carries out everything in-house. “We work exclusively with extensively trained and certified staff. By continuing to take courses and further training, we try to keep up and continuously grow with the changes in technical aspects in our industry," says Rick Tielen.

Partly because of this and years of experience, they have all the knowledge in-house. The fact that they are affiliated with Bovag and Focwa creates additional confidence.

Also traveling myself

They also regularly travel with the camper themselves. “Unfortunately not enough,” Miranda says with a smile, “There is still work to be done.” However, the showroom will be closed for 3 weeks during the summer holidays. This is usually the quietest period of the year, so it is an excellent opportunity for them to refuel before the late season. Rick: “Because we often offer campers in the higher price ranges, it is mainly the over-50s who visit our company. They mainly go out in the early and late season when it is less busy.”
