Go on holiday well prepared

Go on holiday well prepared

This year the holiday is different than previous years. Even though many countries are already open to holidaymakers, many people still decide not to go on holiday in the Netherlands itself. For anyone who is going abroad, here are some tips so that you are well prepared.

Research carefully at home what is and is not possible at your holiday address. Read the current travel advice for your destination and also investigate what the corona rules are there. You can find this information, for example, on the website netherlandsworldwide.nl. For example, check out the travel checklist.

Plan stops

Normally you stop along the way for a snack, a visit to the toilet or a nice cup of coffee. However, not all facilities are in use yet. It is therefore very useful to plan in advance how you will drive and where you can stop. So that you don't end up in front of a closed gas station. You can find this out, for example, via Google Maps.

Face masks and gloves

Because it is mandatory in several countries to wear a face mask and/or gloves, there is also a good chance that they are more difficult to find. Therefore, buy them before you go out, so that you still have access to shops, restaurants or public transport. Don't forget to pack disinfectant hand gel and paper tissues.

Bring enough face masks for everyone.

Point to travel

You can also find more tips for your holiday on the website National government. There are guidelines that help you travel wisely. In any case, always adhere to the basic rules: If you have complaints, stay at home and get tested. Keep your distance, avoid crowds and wash your hands often. Local rules may be stricter, so they apply.
