Holiday in the Netherlands: record number of overnight stays

Holiday in the Netherlands, for many people that was the solution for a beautiful summer this year. And our country also offers plenty of opportunities. It is not without reason that holiday parks and campsites had a record number of overnight stays this year. CBS reports that there were even more than in peak year 2019.

Of course, this was not yet the case at the beginning of the year, during the lockdown. There were no less than 93 percent fewer overnight stays than in 2019. Fortunately, we were able to enjoy our holiday in the Netherlands again in the summer and this is reflected in the figures.

Not all areas did well, bookings lagged behind, especially in and around the Randstad. The provinces of North and South Holland are largely dependent on foreign tourism. More figures and information on the CBS website.
