AWAY Vans is by Beert and Jeroen, two men who were looking for a Motorhome but couldn't choose between adventure, style, and convenience. So they built a Motorhome that combines all of that. A Motorhome that gives you the same feeling as backpacking. Everything you need, without the hassle.
Jeroen: “During our search for a Motorhome, we were shocked: expensive, impractical, and often a mess. Instead of endlessly converting a work van, we chose a different route. With 40 years of experience in product development and two TU Delft diplomas, we started developing a new type of van. We now build Motorhomes for anyone who wants adventure without sacrificing comfort.”

In addition to Beert and Jeroen, the team behind the Van conversions consists of brand designer Melanie, architect Michael, and 3D designer Jochem. With these five, the idea has been transformed into the AWAY brand and a concrete product. The base is the workshop at Tractieweg 42 in Utrecht, a place full of history from the Werkspoor Kwartier.
The Cockpit: your vantage point
In AWAY's vision, a Motorhome consists of three zones. In the cockpit, the enjoyment begins as soon as you step in. Four seats, good visibility, everything within reach. Traveling becomes a pleasure. Every bend a new view, every stop a new story. With your hands on the wheel, your road trip has begun before you're anywhere.
The lounge: relax!
After a day full of winding roads and new impressions, you plop down in your lounge, feet up, stories on the table. The kitchen next to you is already waiting: something simple, something warm, do whatever you feel like. No searching, no fumbling. Inside it's cozy, outside the next view beckons. Whether you have an early breakfast before departure or pour something in the evening: this is the space for peace.
You sleep well in the cocoon
You leave late, the children are tired, and so are you. No tent to set up, no bed to convert, no bags to carry. In the cocoon, you step directly into your own bed. A familiar, enclosed sleeping area in the back of the Motorhome. Your duvets are already there. Quiet and comfortable under wraps, just like at home. A place where you can always land directly. And that feels surprisingly luxurious.

Why use a new van as a base, when a young second-hand one is just as perfect? For AWAY, reuse is not a compromise, but a conscious choice for the climate and your wallet. AWAY buys a second-hand van for you, with a full maintenance history and an independent inspection by the ANWB. Points of attention are resolved by a regular partner. This base is converted by AWAY into your Van conversion.
GET AWAY
A lot of Van conversion for your money. The GET AWAY is the entry-level model and has the best price-quality ratio. Luxury finish is not skimped on, there is no difference compared to the high-end DRIFT AWAY, AWAY Vans' other model. An ideal companion for spontaneous weekend trips or longer journeys. The base is a Renault Master with a long wheelbase and suitable for 4 people without getting in each other's way. The specs are something to write home about: The Renault Master is a Euro 6 with a maximum of 120,000 km on the clock, 2.3l for 125 hp or more. The Motorhome inspection at the RDW is included, as is an induction hob with accompanying battery pack, refrigerator, and a complete electrical system, powered by 400W of solar panel. A mobile toilet is even included. This basic version, which is truly complete and receives an uncompromising finish, has an attractive price tag. For € 55,800, the GET AWAY, including the van, is ready for your door, vacation-ready. Do you want more? Then more is also possible, for example, with a bicycle rack or Maxxfan, you can further refine your van.
DRIFT AWAY
The Van conversion with the most comfort. The DRIFT is there to enjoy that little bit of extra luxury. This consists of an extra-large battery pack of 2000Wu with which you can stand off-grid for three days. A diesel parking heater and air conditioning make climate control perfect. With the standard off-road tires, you'll get somewhere, and with a bicycle rack, you can further explore that somewhere. An outdoor shower, ladder, and reversing camera complete the extra luxury.
On the outside, the DRIFT AWAY is fully painted in a warm grey-beige base color. The middle stripe comes as an accent in olive grey. The layout and materials used in the interior are the same as with the GET AWAY. Furthermore, the DRIFT has all the functionalities that the GET AWAY also has. Another similarity is the attractive price of the DRIFT. At € 63,900, it is completely equipped and includes the van.
AWAY's Motorhomes are not ordinary converted Van conversions. Thanks to aviation technology such as aircraft rails and rivets, everything is rock solid and feels like factory work. The clever modular design makes customization easy: if you're going away with two, you leave the top bed at home. If you want to make adjustments yourself in the future, this is no problem due to the accessible connections.
