Tips: safely look for a camper or caravan

These are confusing times at the moment, also when it comes to camping. We understand that, despite the social isolation, you still want to go on a camping adventure in the future! That is why CampersCaravans.nl gives you tips on how you can safely look for your ideal camper or caravan.

Due to the current developments surrounding the coronavirus and the government measures to protect us, life looks very different for all of us. Our priority at this time is the safety of our users and the people around them. We therefore give you a number of tips to help you safely and responsibly search for the perfect camper or caravan for you. We do this in accordance with the measures taken by the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment Ministry (RIVM).

Our tips

1 – The advertisement

Review the ad thoroughly. If there are not enough photos in the advertisement, ask the seller for more photos. If possible, you can also ask the seller for a video.

2 – Specifications

Read the specifications of the camper or caravan thoroughly. If any information is missing, please contact the seller for more information. This is best done by email, telephone or chat.

3 – Options with video

You don't buy a camper or caravan without actually seeing the vehicle. It may not be the same, but have a video call with each other via, for example, a chat application. The seller can thus give a digital tour of the camper or caravan without physical contact. You can also ask questions directly during the tour. If a visiting appointment follows, keep an appropriate distance: the RIVM recommends at least 1,5 meters.

4 – Clear agreements

Make clear agreements in advance about the exact price and how payment will take place.

5 – Contactless payment

When purchasing and selling, we recommend using services that enable contactless transfer, such as digital payment via payment requests. In addition, keep the transfer as clear as possible, for example by providing as much information about the boat as possible in advance
