McLouis MC4 231: sharply priced Italian refinement

McLouis MC4 231: sharply priced Italian refinement

In Belgium and Southern Europe, McLouis is the best-selling camper brand. For Dutch campers, the brand is certainly not unknown, but there are growth opportunities to give McLouis the market position that matches the quality, appearance and pricing of the brand. With the appointment of camper specialist van Erp from Goor as exclusive dealer/importer for the Netherlands and the introduction of the McLouis MC4 231 in the new 200 series, this could well happen quickly.

The McLouis range always consisted of a 300 and 800 series in which alcove campers, semi-integrals and integrals with different dimensions and layouts had a place. The 800 models as top of the bill next to the 300 series with fewer options as standard for a sharper price. That setup has changed with the arrival of the 200 series. These models are considered entry-level models for an unbeatable sharp price. The alcove campers are also included in this.

For 2021, the 300 series with semi-integrals and integrals applies as mid-range. Just like the 800 series, but for the top segment, equipped with all the pleasure a camper can offer.

The latest model in the 200 series is the MC4 231, available from € 63,900.

McLouis MC4 231

The latest model in the 200 series is the MC4 231, available from € 63,900. An entry-level model, and a compact one at that, less than 6m long, which fits in a normal parking space. On paper, you would expect a stripped-down basic model. In practice, however, you have to look very carefully for the differences with the more luxurious series. Moreover, due to the clever layout, the compactness of the newcomer is not noticeable at all. With a transversely placed fixed bed. A full wet room with shower and toilet. A kitchen that invites you to cook and a dinette for four thanks to the swivel pilot seats, you experience the MC4 231 as a size larger.

As standard, the camper is holiday-ready for 2 to 3 people. The third person then finds a sleeping place on the converted dinette, for which a filler piece is stored rattle-free in the spacious garage. This bed measures 208 x 78 cm. The fixed bed in the back measures 216 x 130 cm. Optionally, an electrically operated pull-down bed of 190 x 81 cm is possible for a fourth holidaymaker. The same number as the number of belted seats during the journey.

Design

McLouis is an Italian product that further explains the pleasant atmosphere in the living area of the MC4 231. The ergonomics, lighting plan, color scheme, and finish are coordinated as only Italians can. An example is the finish of the window behind the kitchen. Like all other windows, it is equipped with a combi cassette. Handy, of course, but it's not exactly an ornament. In the MC4, the cassette is finished with a stylized plexiglass frame that is easy to clean and looks much more attractive than the bare casing of the cassette. A way of thinking whose effect you will find throughout the entire camper.

Quality

The roof of a McLouis camper is hail-resistant. The walls have a polyester finish, and the floor is also made of this material. No wood is used anywhere. Instead, foam is applied. Durable and lightweight. The floor is extra insulated, which means the camper can also be used for winter sports. McLouis gives a 5-year warranty on watertightness for this construction. A Fiat Ducato with 120hp and a light chassis is used as standard. This makes the MC4 231 lightweight and leaves more payload.

About Van Erp Campers

McLouis started producing campers in 2000. The brand quickly became part of the SAE group, which also included Elnagh and Mobilvetta. In 2013, this merged into the Trigano group. A major player in the camper world with more than 25 illustrious brands under its wing, such as Adria, Benimar, Chausson, Karmann, or Roller Team.

Van Erp Campers has been part of this family for a year with the exclusive dealership in McLouis campers for the Netherlands. For Jolien and Jan Geert van Erp, this is a recognition of what has been achieved in 10 years of trading in used campers. From an attractive showroom with a well-equipped workshop, young used campers of all brands were always sold and serviced. To also serve those interested in a new camper, a dealership in Giottiline campers was entered into two years ago.

A year later, McLouis was added, which also presents an attractive offer in new campers in Goor, Overijssel. The enthusiasm and flexibility with which Van Erp serves its customers will certainly ensure that more and more McLouis campers with a Dutch license plate will appear on the road.
