Morelo Home: Enjoy with five stars

Three years ago, Morelo launched the Empire Liner, with a progressive design that immediately set the trend for the future of the German manufacturer of luxury liners. For model year 2020, the Morelo Home has now been redesigned, with clear features from the Empire Liner series.

Morelo is part of the German Knaus Tabbert Group (KTG) and is an important player in the luxury liner segment: the superlative of integrated motorhomes. The premium brand is imported by Haffkamp Campers from Sittard, Limburg. The Home, the smallest in Morelo's premium segment, has been completely redesigned. High time for a renewed acquaintance.

Impressive appearance

The Home is built on the Iveco Daily chassis. Power is provided by a 3.0 liter diesel engine with an output of 180 hp. Five models are available, of which the 74H is the smallest, with a maximum permissible mass of 5,800 kilos. Due to its dimensions, even the 'smallest' Home is an impressive sight, with a length of 7.45 meters and a height of 3.32 meters.

The liner has been given a new, rounded front that makes the Home look more modern. It is equipped with flush-mounted windows all around and there are many service hatches that provide access to luggage compartments that are incorporated into the double floor (2x 44 mm thick) of the vehicle. The walls are also no less than 44 mm thick, made of aluminum with insulation foam in between. The roof has a polyester protective layer that forms a good buffer against hail. We see the same polyester on the underside of the floor panel, as protection against splashing water and stone chips. It is also special that the awning is now fully integrated.

Luxurious appearance

As with larger Morelo models, the entrance door is 11 cm wider than usual. The dark wood combines well with the high-gloss cream-colored cabinet doors and we see chrome handles and details that give the Home a luxurious appearance. You can also order the Home with a light wood type, which creates even more sense of space. Spotlights, reading lights and light strips along the ceiling create a pleasant atmosphere in the evening hours.

The overhead cabinets are elegantly designed and offer many storage options for clothes and holiday items. In the interior, we recognize various design details from the Empire Liner, which elevate the Home to an even higher level.

Living area

The living area is upholstered in leather, and a striking detail is the removable steering wheel (optional), which allows the driver's seat to slide further back when rotated. In the dashboard, we see the usual instruments. Part of the Iveco chassis are various safety systems, such as emergency brake assist, the electric parking brake, and a tire pressure monitoring system for all six wheels.

The L-shaped kitchen features a three-burner gas hob, and the drawers offer ample space for cookware. In the kitchen, a floating spot is reserved for the coffee machine, so it doesn't take up counter space. Further back, we come to the bathroom with a separate shower and toilet. In this premium class, customers usually opt for the ceramic toilet with macerator and a 200-liter faeces tank. Behind the bathroom, we see a spacious double bed spanning the full width of the vehicle (210 cm) – ideal for tall people.

Installations

The Morelo Home is equipped with Alde liquid heating, combined with underfloor heating. For the electronic equipment, Morelo chooses the German premium brand Büttner. Solar panels, inverter, lithium batteries: nothing has been skimped on. Piping and electrical installations are neatly mounted and concealed. In the double, heated floor, water tanks and technical installations are stored frost-free, making the Home a perfect travel companion for winter sports.

After the successful introduction of the Empire Liner, the Morelo Home now also features a renewed design. The liner is equipped for a comfortable and long-term stay on board, and high-quality components have been installed. Importer Maurice Haffkamp has – rightly so – high expectations for the smallest model among the Morelo liners. Design, installation, and finish are of the highest level.
