We are looking for a new home for Brownie.

Brownie has been with us since December 2017. Due to the purchase of a holiday home, there is unfortunately no longer room for our beloved camper. This was part of the deal for us; buy a holiday home, but then Brownie had to go.

The coming months will be dedicated to giving Brownie a new MOT as well as a major service and preparing him for sale. So he is already for sale, but photos will only follow when he really shines inside and out again. Then extensive photos of him will be taken and published. Do you still want to come and have a look? Of course you are very welcome, but be aware that he will then still shine as campers shine in a showroom.

A few photos have been added for now, but more will follow. There is also one photo of the original rims, emblem and chrome strips on the grille that will be reinstalled.

You can take a mega test drive with us if you are very interested in buying him. I have a travel organization and this can be combined with programs I have. For example; in August I'm going to the Vosges for a week. You/you can drive as far as I'm concerned and I will be present. Once on location, I will carry out my program with a group and you can enjoy what Brownie has to offer at a campsite. Driving is then not allowed and I will then put him on the Bearlock. When the program is over, you/you will drive us back to NL. I ask € 750.00 for this. If the sale goes through, this amount will be deducted from the selling price.

Now more about Brownie:

In addition to the many highlights Brownie brought us, we also experienced ups and downs during his time with us. He was born with a disability. The engine that was installed had defects, so he had an engine that 'consumes oil'. So be careful if you plan to buy a 180 hp Volkswagen engine around the year 2012. Do not buy it unless a new engine has been installed later. A production error that Volkswagen never acknowledged, but in the US Volkswagen lost the lawsuit and Volkswagen had to fix this. Unfortunately, the lawsuits in Europe were not won. This led to me having to have a new engine installed in July 2023 because Brownie could no longer move forward. Since then, Brownie entered his second youth and there have been no engine problems since then. There is also a one-year warranty on the engine (until July 5, 2027).

Brownie has always been dealer maintained at Campercentrum Amersfoort or at Volkswagen Hoogenboom Spijkenisse.

He has been all-risk insured his entire life. For this, an appraisal report had to be drawn up. This report was drawn up on November 22, 2022. The value has been set at € 46,500.00. This appraisal is valid until 22-11-2027. From the Volkswagen dealer I received the advice to ask € 5,000.00 less if I want to sell my camper myself.

My asking price is € 41,500.00 for the above reason.

The great advantage for both parties of a sale from myself:

• As a buyer, you pay about € 5,000.00 less than if you buy the same camper from a dealer
• As a seller, I receive more for Brownie than if I sell him to a dealer

New price of this camper is € 94,580.00 including all accessories.

Volkswagen Camper California GP (5) Comfortline 2.0 132 kW / 180 hp TDI WB 3000 California. Engine in very good condition and interior in used condition. Always maintained by the dealer. MOT until 07-10-2026, but I will perform it again in September along with a major service.

New engine installed on July 6, 2023, at a mileage of 226,540. The odometer now reads 311,000. The new engine comes with a 4-year warranty (see photo). Or until July 5, 2027. This type of camper from the 2012 model year and with this type of engine is for sale at the same price as a used vehicle at various companies, but mine has a new, original, and improved engine, unlike other campers with original engines that – beware! – originally have a defect.

Brownie's extras:

• Limited-slip differential.
• Extra security using a BEAR-lock for all-risk insurance.
• Alarm system.
• Air conditioning.
• Cruise control.
• Tow bar.
• Awning.
• Original rims still present (currently matte black ones are installed).
• Various interior accessories such as leather storage compartments behind the seats and side window, clothing net, roof net, etc. are present.
• Both top and bottom have a new mattress since 2025. Since then, it has also been slept on very little.

Over the years, Brownie has naturally undergone maintenance. This was maintenance and repairs that you would expect from a 2012 camper. Since it has always been dealer-maintained, there is insight into this maintenance and repairs. Brownie has never been in a collision or anything like that.

If I am very critical of Brownie myself, it is as follows:

• Driver's seat upholstery needs to be replaced.
• The rear seat cushion has sagged a bit, so it may also need to be replaced.
• Roof tent needs to be replaced, but I will replace it during the next maintenance.
• Of course, some stone chips here and there.
