We are looking for a new home for Brownie.

Brownie has been with us since December 2017. Due to the purchase of a recreational home, there is unfortunately no more space for our beloved Motorhome. This was part of the deal for us; buying a recreational home, but then selling Brownie.

The coming months will be dedicated to giving Brownie a new MOT and a major service and preparing him for sale. So he is already for sale, but photos will only follow when he truly shines inside and out. Then extensive photos will be taken and published. Would you like to come and see him already? Of course, you are most welcome, but be aware that he will then shine as Motorhomes shine in a showroom.

A few photos have been added for now, but more will follow. You can also see one photo of the original rims, emblem, and chrome strips on the grille that will be reinstalled.

You can take a mega test drive with us if you are very interested in buying him. I have a travel organization and this can be combined with programs I have. For example; in August I am going to the Vosges for a week. You may drive, and I will be present. Once we arrive at the location, I will carry out my program with a group and you can enjoy what Brownie has to offer at a campsite. Driving will not be allowed then, and I will put him on the Bearlock. When the program is finished, you will drive us back to NL. For this, I ask € 750.00. If the sale goes through, this amount will be deducted from the selling price.

Now more about Brownie:

Besides the many highlights that Brownie has brought us, we have also experienced ups and downs during the time he was with us. He was born with a limitation. The engine that was installed had defects, causing him to have an engine that 'consumes oil'. So be careful if you plan to buy a 180 hp engine from Volkswagen around the year of manufacture 2012. Do not buy it unless a new engine has been installed later. A manufacturing defect that Volkswagen never acknowledged, but in the US, Volkswagen lost the lawsuit and had to rectify this. Unfortunately, the lawsuits in Europe were not won. This led to me having a new engine installed in July 2023 because Brownie could no longer move forward. Since then, Brownie has entered his second youth, and there have been no engine problems since. By the way, there is still one year of warranty on the engine (until July 5, 2027).

Brownie has always been dealer-maintained at Campercentrum Amersfoort or at Volkswagen Hoogenboom Spijkenisse.

He has always been fully insured his entire life. For this, an appraisal report had to be drawn up. On November 22, 2022, this report was drawn up. The value was determined at € 46,500.00. This appraisal is valid until 22-11-2027. From the Volkswagen dealer, I received the advice to ask € 5,000.00 less if I want to sell my Motorhome myself.

My asking price for the above reason is € 41,500.00.

The great advantage for both parties of a sale from myself:

• As a buyer, you pay about € 5,000.00 less than if you buy the same Motorhome from a dealer
• As a seller, I receive more for Brownie than if I sell him to a dealer

New price of this Motorhome is € 94,580.00 including all accessories.

Volkswagen Motorhome California GP (5) Comfortline 2.0 132 kW / 180 hp TDI WB 3000 California. Engine in very good condition and interior in used condition. Always serviced at the dealer. APK until 07-10-2026, but I will perform it again in September with a major service at the same time.

New engine installed on July 6, 2023 at mileage 226,540. Odometer now shows 311,000. The new engine has a 4-year warranty (see photo). So until July 5, 2027. This type of motorhome from year of manufacture 2012 and with this type of engine is for sale at the same price as used at various companies, but mine therefore has a new, original and improved engine as opposed to other motorhomes with original engines that – beware! – originally have a defect.

Extras of Brownie:

• Limited slip differential.
• Extra security with a BEAR-lock for all-risk insurance.
• Alarm system.
• Air conditioning.
• Cruise control.
• Towbar.
• Awning.
• Original rims still present (currently matte black ones are fitted).
• Various interior accessories such as leather storage compartments at the back of the seats and side window, clothing net, roof net, etc. are present.
• Both the top and bottom have a new mattress since 2025. Since then, there has also been little sleep on it.

Over the years, there has of course been maintenance on Brownie. This was maintenance and repairs that you can expect from a motorhome from 2012. As it has always been dealer maintained, there is insight into this maintenance and repairs. Brownie has never been in a collision or anything similar.

If I am very critical of Brownie myself, it is as follows:

• Driver's seat upholstery needs replacing.
• Rear seat cushion is slightly sagged, so possibly also needs replacing.
• Pop-top roof needs replacing, but I will replace it during the next maintenance.
• Of course, some stone chips here and there.
