Germany: camping among the vineyards
Now that travel warnings are being relaxed more and more within Europe, the interest in going on a trip is higher than ever. For example, Germany is a popular destination. For the latter reason, the German Wine Institute has researched campervan pitches in all thirteen German wine-growing regions.
The best of both worlds for many. Because what could be better than traveling with your campervan through picturesque landscapes and then combining that with a good glass of wine?
“After an initial survey among German winegrowers, we found 35 companies that offer holidaymakers the opportunity to stay overnight with them in their campervan,” says Monika Reule, director of the German Wine Institute. “And there are probably many more winegrowers who are willing to do this. But from three pitches onwards, winegrowers need a building permit to actively rent out pitches.”
Germany offers many wine routes which make the trip extra fun. Other popular activities include 'the most beautiful views of vineyards‘, ‘highlights of wine culture' and Germany's 'award-winning vinotheques‘.
