Germany: camping among the vineyards
Now that travel warnings are increasingly relaxed within Europe, interest in hitting the road is higher than ever. For example, Germany is a popular destination. For the latter reason, the German Wine Institute has conducted research into camper pitches in all thirteen German wine-growing regions.
The best of both worlds for many. Because what could be better than traveling through picturesque landscapes in your camper and then combining it with a smooth, good wine?
“After an initial survey among German wine growers, we found 35 companies that offer holidaymakers the opportunity to spend the night with them in their camper,” said Monika Reule, director of the German Wine Institute. “And there are probably many more wine growers who are willing to do this. But from three pitches onwards, winegrowers need a building permit to actively rent out pitches.”
Germany offers many wine routes which make the trip extra fun. Other popular activities include 'the most beautiful views over vineyards", "highlights of wine culture' and German 'award-winning vinotheques'.
