Tropical Islands: Christmas holiday in the German Tropics

Tropical Islands: Christmas holiday in the German Tropics

From the Christmas tree at home to palm trees and sun-drenched beach. And that with the caravan behind the car. Wonderful temperatures both in and out of the water or swimming in a winter landscape. It's all possible in Tropical Islands. A stone's throw from Berlin lies Europe's largest tropical indoor paradise.

Tropical IslandsSo if you want to get away from the grey and cold in your own country, you don't have to fly for a day to another continent, but our 'eastern neighbour' has the tropics available in an immense hall in the forests of Brandenburg. And in those forests there is a fantastic campsite with simple tipis up to the ultimate luxury tents. Glamping, in other words. In addition, there are numerous pitches for caravans and campers in the forests, where some 150 nature homes are also ready to welcome guests from, among others, the Netherlands. You can also choose between hotel accommodations in and just outside the otherworldly-looking, former Zeppelin hall.

On the way to Tropical Islands

Something for everyone, and everyone can reach Tropical Islands in their own way. By car, with or without a caravan, or by camper. But also by train or a combination of plane/train and the connecting shuttle service, which takes care of the last 5 kilometres, tropical enjoyment is easily accessible. A flight to Berlin-Tegel or Berlin-Schönefeld takes just over an hour, the regional train to Tropical Islands station takes just under an hour from the Hauptbahnhof. And then it's a few days of heartwarming and pure enjoyment.

Tropical Islands - water fun

Play for the little ones and adventure for growing youth, and pure relaxation and peace for the (grand)parents. And all that at an average temperature of approximately 28 degrees. The water temperature, both indoors and outdoors, is no less. Only in Germany's largest wellness complex with seven sauna landscapes does the temperature regularly rise much higher. Everything under one roof. Including about 13 restaurants and bars and exciting attractions for all age groups.

Sea, beach and lagoon

The 'South Sea' with its 200-meter long beach is pure fun for the children. With attractions in the water and on the beach, while the parents relax on sun loungers enjoying the wonderful temperature and a drink. And... where they can keep an eye on things from time to time.

Tropical IslandsOn the other side of the rainforest lies the lagoon. A water landscape the size of four swimming pools where whirlpools, jet streams and waterfalls provide variety and water fun. The whole is fantastically lit, especially in the twilight of the evening hours. After all, the eye wants something too. The in-house hotel is built in colonial style and is in fact a village with shops and a boulevard. In short, an environment where you want to be and where it is good to stay.

Near Berlin and Potsdam

Speaking of surroundings: in the immediate vicinity of Tropical Islands, say 45 minutes by car or train, lies one of the world's most vibrant cities: Berlin. A day of shopping or sightseeing in Berlin or Potsdam with its famous Holländer-Viertel and palaces, is an exciting break from your tropical holiday, after which, when you return, you can relax wonderfully again. And before you know it, the Christmas holiday is over again, but with that wonderful feeling of that tropical experience, you can easily face the winter again.
