Kabe Classic C 560 XL: More than winter-proof

Kabe is known for its uncompromising construction and its absolute winter resistance. This means that the caravans from the Swedish manufacturer are among the absolute top. But: that also comes with a price tag. To gain more foothold in the Dutch market, Kabe is launching a special series: the Kabe Classic C 560 XL.

Kabe is the absolute market leader in its home country of Sweden, so expansion can only be achieved by reaching other European countries. Like the Netherlands. What gets in the way somewhat is the price: the range starts at 34 euros, which also limits the target group. Kabe developed the Classic especially for our country - a little smaller, a little narrower, but still with the uncompromising construction method: only concessions have been made in terms of luxury. This brings the price below thirty grand. Still a lot of money, but: then you have a Kabe…

Technology of the Kabe Classic C 560 XL

What makes the Kabe Classic C 560 XL so special? This mainly concerns insulation, heating and smart applications to prevent condensation. We start with the base plate: it is - just like the walls and roof - thicker than other brands. The top layer of the floor is finished with an aluminum plate in which slots have been milled for the standard liquid underfloor heating from Alde. When building a Kabe, you start with mounting the base plate on the chassis, followed by the side walls, the back and the front. Only once the furniture has been secured will the roof go on. What is special about the interior walls is that they are lined on the inside: less chance of condensation forming. And there is a cavity between furniture and walls, so that warm air can circulate everywhere. The unique VarioVent ventilation system, developed by Kabe itself, also contributes to this. All walls are then equipped with convectors for Alde liquid heating - similar to radiators at home. All these measures make Kabe's 100 percent winter-proof, but you also have a lot of comfort in the summer, because a lot of heat remains outside. The fact that Kabe puts the finishing touches on everything is also evident from the random checks carried out in our own climate chamber, with temperatures between minus-35 and +50 degrees.

Exterior

We also see all this technology in our test sample, the 5,5 meter long Kabe Classic C560 XL. Outside, the typical red color that makes Kabe caravans so recognizable is immediately noticeable. What is also striking are the smaller windows, clearly smaller than other brands, resulting in much less heat loss. Or the other way around: so that the heat from the sun reaches the caravan less quickly - so you also benefit from good insulation in Tuscany. A smart detail is the pull-out ski box, which is hidden behind one of the service hatches. Not only suitable for skis, but also for tent poles, fishing tackle or other long objects.

Interior

Inside we see light oak furniture, combined with light colors - it gives the caravan a modern, contemporary look. Next to the entrance door we immediately see the touch screen control panel of the Alde heating. Inside, this Kabe has a layout with a French bed at the rear and next to it the toilet room with sliding door. A smoke detector is mounted above the bed. Heat convectors are invisibly concealed everywhere. The Alde stove is located under the wide hanging cupboard and - typical Kabe - here we also find a drying cupboard, for ski clothes or a wet coat. The kitchen is large, with a worktop of no less than 1,75 meters in which the elongated hob - three gas burners - and a sink are concealed. The refrigerator has a capacity of 140 liters, the soft-close drawers under the worktop are equipped with central locking, handy for on the go. In the front, the Classic Classic C560 XL has a spacious round seat with comfortable cushions. There are 6 sockets in the Kabe Classic C 560 XL and there are lamps and light spots in all places that provide atmospheric lighting.

Conclusion

Uncompromising construction, 100% winter-proof, smart details and a top-class heating system that would even make permanent residence possible. That's Kabe. But: that is not without reason. It is smart that Kabe is coming to the Netherlands with a 'cheaper' version. By only skimping on luxury, this Classic also comes within the reach of a new target group.
