Going on winter sports? Try going by camper...

When you think of winter sports, you often think of staying in a hotel or chalet. But if you own a camper, you can, of course, also ideally seek out the snow from your own camping spot. Especially if you have a camper that can keep you warm...

You wouldn't be the only one taking the camper for a winter sports holiday, by the way. More and more people are doing it this way: no less than 10percent of Dutch camper owners take their motorhome to the snow. This is according to a poll on the website of the NKC (Dutch Motorhome Club).

Winter camping more popular

Quite a few people filled out this poll: 9,638 to be exact. They not only travel in the pre- and post-season, but winter is also becoming increasingly popular. Stan Stolwerk, director of the NKC, says: “It may sound unattractive, camping during winter sports, but it doesn't have to be that way at all anymore. Campers are well resistant to the cold, and if they are not, all kinds of adjustments can be made to make the camping equipment winter-proof. Camper pitches and campsites near the slopes often have all kinds of facilities, such as a drying room for skis, wellness, and a living room where you can sit in the evening.”
