Start your RV trip in Las Vegas

Viva Las Vegas! An amusement park for adults. The city that radiates America, everything is over the top, grand or even gigantic. Nothing is too crazy in this city. Clear your mind and be entertained and amazed by everything that happens and can be seen here. Las Vegas is best known for its special hotels and casinos. For some a highlight of the trip, for others a stopover, and then quickly continue on. You either love it or you don't like it at all. Yet you should not miss Las Vegas, if only because it is such a unique place. You won't soon forget a visit here. As a starting point for a camper trip, Vegas offers a number of advantages compared to other cities in Southwest America, which 5 are listed below.

Las Vegas

1. Las Vegas is compact

Las Vegas is a good city to start your RV trip. Unlike San Francisco and Los Angeles, Las Vegas is very compact. The Strip, where the vast majority of hotels are located, is easily accessible on foot. In the summer it can be very hot and that is why there are routes through the hotels that are nicely cooled by the air conditioners. The Strip is home to famous themed hotels such as the Bellagio, Caesars Palace, The Venetian and many others. You can just walk into all these hotels. If you're not into gambling, just be amazed by the size of these casinos. In addition to a casino, most hotels also have a shopping area with the most beautiful and expensive shops available. The shopping section of the Caesars Palace is highly recommended. Here you really feel as if you are walking through an old Roman street. In addition, the hotels all have several restaurants and bars. Be careful because in some hotels the drinks are quite pricey. The great thing about Las Vegas is perhaps that the airport is located next to The Strip, the famous sign with “Welcome to Las Vegas” is literally next to the airport. This ensures that you can be at your hotel and on the Strip within a few minutes.

2. The hotel stays are affordable

Another advantage of Las Vegas is that the costs for a hotel stay here are not too bad if you avoid the weekends. Prices for overnight stays decrease on Sunday and build up again at the end of the week. You can often stay at an A location in a beautiful hotel for just a few tens of euros. Nice to start luxury. In addition, these hotels have a lot to offer such as swimming pools, spas, bars, restaurants and much more.

Las Vegas

3. The distance to the camper rental companies is small

The camper rental companies are a reasonable distance from the Strip, so you don't have to spend an hour in a taxi to get there. The RV rental companies are about a 10 to 20 minute drive from downtown Las Vegas. On the day you pick up the camper, you will be at the rental company in no time.

Las Vegas

4. The campsites in Las Vegas

There are very nice campsites in the city. You can possibly stay at one of these campsites the first day after picking up the camper. A number of these campsites are centrally located in Las Vegas, just a few minutes' walk or drive from The Strip. If you want to go driving, the Valley of Fire and Zion National Park are quite nearby. If you want to do some shopping immediately after picking up the camper, that is no problem. About 3 hours before you arrive in Zion National Park, if you pick up the camper in the morning, this is perfectly feasible. An alternative for those who pick up the camper in the afternoon is Valley of Fire. This state park is about a 1.5 hour drive away.

Las Vegas

5. The traffic around Las Vegas

One of the biggest advantages of starting your RV trip in Las Vegas has to do with the traffic. Because it is located in the desert, it is often a lot quieter on many roads in and just outside Las Vegas than in Los Angeles and San Francisco. On the roads in Las Vegas you can slowly get used to the size of the camper and learn to estimate its dimensions.
