Travelhome has been the camper specialist since 1986 and is part of the ANWB. It started with renting out campers in the Netherlands. This quickly grew into camper trips throughout Europe and beyond. Canada, America, Cuba and even Namibia and Australia are among Travelhome's destinations. America and Canada are particularly popular.

America

America is a versatile country. Ideal for combining beautiful nature parks with large American cities. Discovering the country with a camper is one of the best ways; you decide where you stop along the way and the pace of your trip.

America is, of course, a large country. So where will you start your camper trip? Do you choose the southwest or northwest? Or do you prefer one of the 50 states you will travel through? For example, Florida or Alaska? We describe a number of trips in America.

Florida

Palm trees, clear blue waters and white beaches. You quickly think of this when you think of Florida. But the beautiful state has more to offer than just that. Florida has many vast swamp areas with special bird species and alligators. Everglades National Park is located here, for example; the largest subtropical nature reserve in America.

In addition, Florida has bustling world cities such as Jacksonville and Miami. Jacksonville is the largest city in Florida and is known for its long beaches. Miami is a metropolis and is one of the largest cities in America. With the Art Deco buildings on the coastal road Ocean Drive, it feels like you are in the 1930s.

Western America

Visiting Western America is high on many people's bucket lists. It's also ideal with a camper. This area of America is especially known for its many national parks. Think, for example, of the Grand Canyon, the wide and deep gorge in the north of the state of Arizona. It is one of the oldest national parks in America and offers beautiful views.

Another nature park in the area is Zion National Park. Zion National Park has a 24-kilometer long and 800-meter deep canyon, carved out by the Virgin River. It features towering red rock walls and idyllic waterfalls. It's an ideal park for hiking. One of the most popular trails is The Narrows. Here, you walk through the water in a gorge with steep rock walls. In some places, you'll even be waist-deep in water! Good preparation for this hike is therefore recommended.

Joshua Tree National Park is also highly recommended in the area. This park is known for its strange landforms. Both the hills and the rocks consist of solid rock. This rock has crumbled into loose pieces. The park owes its name to the Joshua Tree that grows in the park.

A must-see in this region is Yosemite National Park. There are so many beautiful hikes to take and impressive viewpoints to visit. The park consists of thundering waterfalls, good valleys, granite rock cliffs, and dense forests with sequoia trees thousands of years old. Definitely a must-see!

Other parks in this area include Bryce Canyon National Park, consisting of naturally formed amphitheaters. Or Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Park, known for its enormous rock formations and the world's largest trees. Such as the General Sherman Tree, the largest tree measured by volume.

Western America is also known for its big cities. Try your luck in Las Vegas, walk or cycle across the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, or experience the glitz and glamour in Beverly Hills in Los Angeles.

Canada

Another popular country for camper trips is Canada. The country offers fairytale-like nature and large, bustling cities. But which side of this beautiful country do you choose? West or East? We'll help you.

Western Canada

Western Canada has overwhelming natural landscapes full of untouched forests, clear blue lakes, and imposing mountains. Here you will also find Travelhome's most popular camper destination. You can canoe, take a helicopter flight, or even take a cable car to the top of Sulphur Mountain.

In Western Canada, you'll find both well-known and lesser-known national parks. Large parks include Banff National Park, Canada's first national park. Another large and well-known park is Jasper National Park, the largest of the four parks in the Rocky Mountains area.

The lesser-known parks include Kootenay National Park. This park offers many high mountain peaks and large rivers. Popular in this park are the hot springs of Radium Hot Springs. The water temperatures vary between 35 and 47 degrees. Yoho National Park, at over 1300 m²is a relatively small park. What you really must see in this park is the impressive turquoise-colored Emerald Lake.

Enjoy a pleasant temperature in Vancouver and admire the impressive skyline or harbor of the city. Or visit the unique city of Calgary. The center of Calgary has a fresh and modern look. Visit the Calgary Tower and enjoy a special view of the Rocky Mountains.

Eastern Canada

When people hear Eastern Canada, they probably immediately think of world cities like Toronto or Montreal. In Toronto, you can ideally shop at the Eaton Centre or enjoy a beautiful view of the city from the CN Tower. In Montreal, you can ideally enjoy the historic part of the city, but also the new part. It is a multicultural city and is known for its delicious cuisine.

The main attraction in Eastern Canada is, of course, Niagara Falls. These world-famous waterfalls are located on the border of America and Canada. Take a trip on the Hornblower and get very close to the bottom of the waterfalls, or visit the observation tower at Prospect Point. With the 'Journey behind the Falls', you can go behind the waterfalls; a unique experience.

In the province of Ontario, you will find the popular Algonquin Provincial Park. There is a lot to do in this wooded park. Hiking, rafting, or climbing, it's all possible here. You'll also find plenty of wildlife here. Spot bears, beavers, moose, and wolves during your visit to this park.
