Chausson 660: Special layout with walk-in closet

The French brand Chausson is a master at creating motorhomes with striking layouts. The new Chausson 660 semi-integrated model leads the way in this. Because if you are looking for a motorhome with a walk-in closet, this Chausson is probably the only choice.

We know Chaussons as cleverly designed motorhomes with a price that doesn't go overboard. The models are built together with the other brand Challenger in Tournon-sur-Rhône. In this Trigano production location, the designers seem to live in a free state with the goal of devising unorthodox solutions. And that seems to come together in this new Chausson 660.

Garage Connected To Living Area

The most special thing about this Chausson model is not a hatch that gives access to the garage, but an access door at the rear left. With full height and its own step, the door gives access to a storage space with standing height. You can, of course, store bicycles, clothes, or groceries that do not need to be refrigerated here. The garage is also accessible via the interior of the 660. This makes the space comparable to a walk-in closet. On the right side, there is another access to the storage, but that is more of normal dimensions. Above this small side door, shelves with elastic are placed to store your luggage even in a bend. Below that, you will also find two drawers for small items. Next to the high access door, a foldable rack with five bins has been made. When unfolded, however, little of the passage remains.

Smart Interior

Something special is also going on with the living space. A long L-shaped sofa on the left with two separate ottomans that you can place yourself. Opposite the sofa on the right side is a low cabinet from which the television with a screen diagonal of 80 centimeters slides out. The table has four foldable parts. When folded, it is a coffee table, and when unfolded, you can dine at it with four or five people. Having a cozy evening with some guests is no problem at all in this new Chausson 660.

Lift bed

You spend the night in the Chausson 660 in a 1.90 x 1.60 m drop-down bed that lowers electrically. Since Chausson is a fan of drop-down beds to save space in a compact motorhome, it is not surprising to find this solution in this new model. The wet cell has a wall that allows the sink to swing over the toilet when you want to shower. Opposite the bathroom is the kitchen. Including a compressor-type refrigerator with a capacity of 135 liters. The refrigerator is placed on an elevation so that you can see if there is still something to eat without bending over. Below the refrigerator, a storage drawer is provided for, for example, your cooking utensils. A two-burner hob, sink in the countertop, two drawers, and a set of cabinets underneath make the compact pantry a usable whole. To the right of the worktop is another wall with compartments that further brightens up the interior. Opposite that, a kind of bar has been created on a low hanging cabinet. Here you will also find an open cabinet with compartments where two glasses find a place and there is space for other items that may go airborne during an emergency stop.
