Chausson 660: Special layout with walk-in closet

The French Chausson is a master in creating campers with a striking layout. The new Chausson 660 semi-integrated predominates in this regard. Because if you are looking for a camper with a walk-in closet, then this Chausson is probably the only choice.

We know Chaussons as smartly designed campers with a price that does not go too far out of line. The models are built together with the other label Challenger in Tournon-sur-Rhône. In this Trigano production location, the designers seem to live in a free state with unorthodox solutions as a higher goal. And that seems to come together in this new Chausson 660.

Garage Connected To Living Area

The most special thing about this Chausson model is not a hatch that gives access to the garage, but an access door at the rear left. With a full height and its own step, the door gives access to a storage space with standing height. You can of course store bicycles, clothing or food that does not need to be refrigerated here. The garage can also be reached through the interior of the 660. This makes the space comparable to a walk-in closet. On the right side there is an access to the storage room, but it is of more normal dimensions. Above this small side door there are shelves with elastic to store your luggage in a bend. Below you will also find two drawers for small items. Next to the high entrance door, a folding rack has been made with five containers. When unfolded, little remains of the passage.

Smart Interior

There is also something special going on with the living space. A long L-shaped sofa on the left with two separate stools that you can place yourself. Opposite the sofa on the right side is a low cupboard where the television with a screen diagonal of 80 centimeters extends. The table has four fold-out parts. When folded it is a coffee table and when unfolded you can dine on it with four or five people. Enjoying a pleasant evening with some guests is no problem in this new Chausson 660.

Lift bed

You spend the night in the Chausson 660 in a fold-down bed measuring 1,90 x 1,60 m that is lowered electrically. Since Chausson is a fan of folding beds to gain space in a compact camper, it is not surprising to encounter this solution in this new model. The wet room has a wall that allows the fountain to swivel over the toilet as soon as you want to take a shower. The kitchen is located opposite the bathroom. Includes a compressor type refrigerator with a capacity of 135 liters. The refrigerator is placed on a raised surface so that you can see if there is anything left to eat without bending down. There is a storage drawer under the refrigerator for your cooking utensils, for example. A hob with two burners, sink in the worktop, two drawers and a set of cupboards underneath make the compact pantry a usable whole. To the right of the worktop is another wall with a division that further enhances the interior. Opposite this, a kind of bar has been created on a low hanging cupboard. Here you will also find an open cupboard with a compartment where two glasses can be placed and there is room for other items that may be airborne in the event of an emergency stop.
