Eura Mobil Profila: Mercedes Sprinter as an alternative
With a development time of a mere four months, Eura Mobil presented the first prototypes of the Eura Mobil Profila based on the Mercedes Sprinter. The new model recently celebrated its official introduction with an online press conference. The Eura Mobil Profila with the Mercedes Sprinter as the base vehicle belongs to the popular seven-meter segment. The B driving license weight of this newcomer also remains within the limits of the 3500 kg regulations.
Necessary switch
Four years ago, the Hymer Group already made the choice to develop a front-wheel drive Sprinter, specifically for motorhomes, in collaboration with Mercedes. From that moment on, the goal was to set a new standard for motorhomes, which Eura Mobil, part of the Trigano group, is now benefiting from. Mercedes naturally has an image in which high quality and pure luxury are central. However, this applies less to Mercedes' commercial vehicle division than to its passenger cars. The Mercedes Sprinter is therefore initially a lot more expensive with a quality comparable to its French or Italian counterparts.
For motorhome builders, the Sprinter is not simply the right choice for that reason. On the other hand, there are also adherents who only trust such a prominent star on the grille and want nothing else. However, that was not the reason for Eura Mobil to build the Profila on a Sprinter. At the introduction of the new model, the supply problems of Fiat Ducatos and associated parts were extensively discussed. This made the switch to Mercedes more or less necessary.
Extra (Standing) Height
The new Eura Mobil Profila will first be available in the two bestsellers from the range: the 696EB and the 676EB. The bodywork of these has remained the same as the existing Eura Mobil Profila 660EB and 695EB based on the Fiat chassis. But due to the long nose of the Sprinter, the length in a parking space increases by 13cm. Other differences are the double floor which is 7cm deeper and the standing height in the living area which is a fraction higher at 1.98cm. The beds in the 676 EB, where EB stands for single beds in German, are 1.95 meters long. For a bridge underpass, the height of the new models based on the Mercedes Sprinter has increased by 10 centimeters to 2.92 m. A satellite dish is not yet installed.
Luxury Equipment
The basic price of this Eura Mobil is considerably higher due to the more expensive Mercedes. For the basic model with a manual 140 hp engine, you should expect a price difference of just under € 9000,- in the Netherlands. This means the motorhome in the Netherlands will just barely stay under or over € 100,000,-. But then you have to powerfully leave the option list as it is. To compensate for some of the price difference, the Eura Mobil Profila on the Sprinter comes with a few extras. However, this does not go much further than the preparation for a 32-inch television and a light in the overhead cabinets. If you choose the Mondial or Mondial plus package, you will spend another six to ten thousand euros, but then you will have a complete motorhome to your liking in impeccable build quality.
